Week 4 Waiver Wire Pickups - Tyler Allgeier, Zavier Scott, Cam Akers Fantasy Football Outlooks

Tyler Allgeier - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Week 4 fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Tyler Allgeier, Zavier Scott, Cam Akers in 2025. Read their waiver wire outlooks for fantasy football.

It's so, so hard to get good waiver wire pickups in fantasy football leagues that end up being consistent contributors to your rosters.

The position is often picked as clean as possible during drafts, and good options rarely come available. When they do, though, it's very important to pounce on them.

And it's in the first few weeks that you have the best opportunity to get someone that will do... well, something. If you don't, you could be in trouble if one of your RBs gets hurt.

Tyler Allgeier Week 4 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 44% of Leagues

Baller Move: Stash as a Handcuff

Allgeier didn't do much at all in the absolute beatdown the Falcons suffered to the Carolina Panthers in Week 3. He's the clear RB2 on his team, but RB Bijan Robinson, the team's lead back, handles the vast majority of the touches.

Allgeier carried the ball just one time for four yards. If Atlanta doesn't have a significant lead built up, it's hard to see him getting much work, as they prefer to have Robinson on the field when they're working from behind. They spent a top-10 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to get him, after all.

Robinson is locked in to his workhorse role, and it's difficult to imagine that changes any time soon. Instead, it seems more like, if Atlanta continues to struggle on offense, he'll be asked to stay on the field even more. So unless you have him on your rosters and want some injury insurance, it's best to leave Allgeier on waivers.

Zavier Scott Week 4 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 3% of Leagues

Baller Move: Short-Term Handcuff Only

With RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) set to miss a few more weeks of action, as he's been placed on injured reserve, Jodan Mason is now the lead back for the Minnesota Vikings. He saw workhorse usage in Week 3, carrying the ball 16 times for 116 yards and two touchdowns.

The Vikings absolutely blew out the Cincinnati Bengals, 48-10, so it made sense that they eventually pulled their starters from the game and let the backups get some work. That's when Scott entered the game. He ended up with eight carries for 30 yards and one reception for 20 yards.

But before that, he did mix in for a few plays. Still, at that point, Minnesota was up 17-0, and the game was wildly tilting one way already. Scott likely won't see a lot of usage in games that are much closer. But of course, he has value as the handcuff to Mason.

Should Mason get hurt, Scott would likely be next in line, and he'd likely see plenty of usage. Ty Chandler, the team's other running back, didn't perform well even with a big role in previous seasons, and is just a depth piece right now.

But when Jones comes back, Scott will likely not get many touches, if any at all.

Cam Akers Week 4 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 2% of Leagues

Baller Move: Leave on Waiver Wire

Akers didn't record a single touch until the Vikings were up by 38 points, winning 48-10 over the helpless Bengals. He isn't even on the active roster any more -- he reverted to the team's practice squad. Minnesota added him after the injury to Jones.

Akers' career is likely on its last legs. Once Jones comes back, if he can stay healthy, Akers might be released from the team's practice squad.

With two Achilles tendon tears in his history, he likely has significantly less burst than he used to, and teams aren't interested in his services much. There isn't much reason to add him.
