Rashid Shaheed 2024 Outlook: Clear Cut No. 2 Receiver
7 months agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed built on his rookie campaign, setting new career highs in receptions (46), receiving yards (719) and receiving touchdowns (five). His sophomore year was full of big plays, including trips to the end zone of 34, 39, 45, and 58 yards. These resulted in spike weeks, but minimal consistency throughout the season. This was partially because of his limited role in the offense, playing more than 70% of the snaps just three times. The good news for the speedster is that the Saints' wide receiver corps is very thin after Chris Olave, headlined by A.T. Perry and Cedric Wilson Jr. He should have no problem slotting in as the No. 2 wideout for a team that ranked in the top 10 in points scored, passing attempts, and passing touchdowns in 2023. Shaheed's variability creates a challenge in managed leagues where predicting his boom performances can be difficult, but he remains an upside flex option, who is an even better asset in best ball formats.
