Cooper Kupp 2023 NFL Player Outlook: Suffers Setback With Hamstring Injury, Week 1 Status In Doubt

While he still had respectable numbers to finish their campaign, his absence limited the Los Angeles Rams to five wins. Kupp finished with 75 catches for 812 yards and six touchdowns in 2022. Kupp suffered a "setback" with his hamstring injury that he suffered on August 1. “I think we just take it a day at a time right now, said Rams head coach Sean McVay. "We'll see. We want to be able to get him back right. We're obviously a much better team when he's available, but in his absence over the last few months, he's been out there leading in the way he can." Kupp is considered day-to-day with his status for Week 1 against the Seahawks up in the air. The reversal of their regular season records from 2021 to 2022 highlights his importance to the team's offense. They were so devoid of other consistent options last season that he still led the team in receiving yards, even if he was the only wideout who played fewer than ten games. He also led the team in receptions and was second in targets. Now that he's presumably healthy, Kupp is poised to have another impressive season for fantasy football. Two seasons ago, he won the wide receiver Triple Crown. The 29-year-old will not replicate that feat, especially if quarterback Matthew Stafford misses some games. However, he will be one of the league leaders in catches, receiving yards, and touchdowns. His production will be hard to pass up since he is still at the peak of his career. Therefore, his sustained dominance over the league makes him a top-ten pick, but the latest injury news will have the star receiver slide into the second round of upcoming drafts.
