Chase Young 2020 Outlook: A Top Fantasy DL Already
5 years agoWashington Redskins defensive end Chase Young comes into the NFL with nearly twice the college production of last year’s Defensive Rookie of the Year, Nick Bosa. The latest in a long line of Ohio State pass rush prodigies, Young has a knack for hoarding sacks, stripping the ball, and stopping players in the backfield. Those are valuable skills for a fantasy defensive lineman, considering the position is traditionally dependent on sacks and big plays for fantasy points. The “Predator” should carry particular intrigue for fantasy players in dynasty IDP leagues, thanks to his massive ceiling and the fact he will play his entire rookie year as a 21-year-old. While he will likely be a hit-or-miss weekly fantasy asset due to the nature of his position and Washington’s pass rush depth, the shortage of elite fantasy talent on the defensive line makes him an immediate fantasy starter. Do not overdraft this pass rush wunderkind, but consider him if you still need DL help after the top-six are already gone.
