Carson Fulmer Remains A Risky Pick
7 years agoOnce considered the number one prospect for the Chicago White Sox, pitcher Carson Fulmer has yet to live up to the hype. The former eighth overall pick struggled mightily in his 2016 debut, but his numbers improved in 2017. This past season, Fulmer pitched to a 3.85 ERA in 7 games (five starts) for the White Sox. It was a big improvement from his 2016 ERA of 8.48 in 11 bullpen appearances. The White Sox have said that Fulmer will have a shot to make the team as one of their starters. In the long-term, it looks like Fulmer is best suited as a swingman which would hurt his fantasy stock. For now, owners can take a wait-and-see approach with the right-hander before investing a draft pick in him.
