Bobby Okereke 2024 Outlook: Big Play Regression Coming
6 months agoOkereke's fantasy stock rose last offseason when he signed with the Giants, largely because he was moving into a pure lead role for the first time. He had been a great source of tackles in the past, but he'd always shared the dinner table with guys like Shaquille Leonard and Zaire Franklin. Expectations were that he would add 20-30 tackles as the lead man in New York… but he didn't. Surprisingly, Okereke's tackle totals actually stayed stagnant with Big Blue, his total number dropping by two while solos went up by seven. There was good news for the Stanford product, though, as he tripled his previous career high in forced turnovers and more than matched his career sack total. Unfortunately, forced turnovers are a hard statistic to rely on in fantasy, especially with a player whose previous career high was just two. Therefore, it could be difficult for the former Colt to repeat his performance from 2023 when he finished as LB2 in total fantasy points. With Okereke's big plays likely to drop, he must register a career-high in tackles to validate his current ADP (LB5 overall).
