We have an incredible slate ahead of us tonight, with 10 games on the docket, including powerhouses Toronto, Edmonton, Colorado, and the Anaheim Ducks. Yes, I said the Ducks. They are a fantasy carnival, allowing over three goals per game and leading the league with 4.2 goals per game. They don't have the best matchup on the slate against a good Vegas defense, but anytime the Ducks are on the schedule, that game is "must-watch."
The premier game on the slate features the Colorado Avalanche heading to Edmonton to face the Oilers. This game will help set an early tone for Western Conference supremacy this season. On the East Coast, we have the battle of New York (sorry, Sabres), as the Islanders head into the big city to face the resurgent Rangers at MSG.

NHL DFS Analysis And Picks For 11/8/25
Toronto Maple Leafs (TOR1 - Auston Matthews, William Nylander, Matthew Knies; $23800 DK)
Defensive Addition: Morgan Rielly ($4900 DK)
On a night where so many top lines are in great spots, none stand out more than the Toronto Maple Leafs. They have the privilege of facing a Boston team that has been awful on the road. The Bruins have given up nearly three even-strength goals and 13.68 high-danger chances per 60 minutes away from home this season.
Goalie Jeremy Swayman has been among the worst goaltenders in the league, allowing 3.25 goals and saving just 76% of the high-danger chances he’s faced on the road. The team’s defensive pairing of Andrew Peeke and Hampus Lindholm has been brutal, giving up 3.29 expected goals and 16.04 high-danger chances per 60 minutes on the road.
The trio of Auston Matthews, William Nylander, and Matthew Knies may be the best in the league, with Nylander and Knies playing some of the best hockey of their careers at the moment. Knies have a combined 18 goals and assists through the team’s first 14 games, while Nylander has 20 in just 11 games. Over the previous two games, this line has combined for 11 goals and assists, a hot streak we will definitely want to ride given their matchup.

Carolina Hurricanes (CAR1 -Sebastian Aho, Andrei Svechnikov, Seth Jarvis; $17300 DK)
Defensive Addition: Sean Walker ($4600 DK)
The Buffalo Sabres have allowed over three even-strength goals per 60 minutes on the road this year, and Carolina’s top line should face the most generous of the defensive pairings on the team, Owen Power and Connor Timmins. They have surrendered 2.95 even-strength goals per 60 minutes and will be backed up by goalie Alex Lyon, who has given up 3.08 goals and has saved under 89% of the shots he’s faced on the road this season.
Carolina has one of the best offenses in the league, especially at home, where they’ve scored 3.75 even-strength goals and accrued 14.24 high-danger chances per 60 minutes. The team plays around with its lines a lot, but as of now, it looks like Sebastian Aho, Andrei Svechnikov, and Seth Jarvis will be the starters, and that’s the best combination the team can put together.
Jarvis and Aho are always studs, and now Svechnikov is rounding into form, having scored all three of his goals on the season over the team’s previous five games. At just $4,300, he helps make them significantly more affordable than Toronto, which costs $6,500 more to stack the full line.
Defender Sean Walker joins the top power play unit with Shayne Gostisbehere injured, making him a must-add when you stack this team. He’s scored a goal in each of the past two games and has at least two shots on goal in eight of the team’s last 11 games. He’s a screaming value at just $4,600.
New York Rangers (NYR1; Mika Zibanejad, Artemi Panarin, Taylor Raddysh; $16200 DK)
Defensive Addition: Adam Fox ($6000 DK)
After seeing the Rangers score four goals last night, their third game of three or more goals in their previous four, they have found their rhythm after a horrible start to the season, and can be placed into DFS lineups again. In that game, the trio of Mike Zibanejad, Artemi Panarin, and Taylor Raddysh had a combined six goals and assists for a total of 48.1 DraftKings points.
Also helping my confidence in the Rangers tonight is that they’re going to face an Islanders team who have given up 3.5 goals per game on the season, including five last night to the Wild. Ilya Sorokin will be back in net for the Islanders, and he’s been awful, allowing at least three goals in all but one of his nine starts.
Their defensive pairing of Tony DeAngelo and Alexander Romanov has been one of the worst in the league, allowing 5.25 expected goals, 48.52 scoring chances, and 27.99 high-danger chances per 60 minutes at home, all of which are the worst numbers on the slate. They have played six games and 78 minutes together at home, so this is not a small sample size; they are legitimately awful.

NHL DFS Value Stack of the Night
Vegas Golden Knights (VGK3 - Brett Howden, Reilly Smith, William Karlsson; $9300 DK)
Tonight’s slate is very “top line heavy”. For the first time in the many years I’ve been doing this, only one line that wasn’t a top line popped on the Heat Map, and that was the third line of Brett Howden, Reilly Smith, and William Karlsson of the Vegas Golden Knights. Karlsson isn’t your typical third-line skater, having played on the top line for the Knights frequently in his career.
The reason the Knights are highlighted has less to do with them and more to do with their matchup. Anaheim has been the Dallas Cowboys of the NHL, a scoring bonanza every game. The Ducks lead the league with over four goals per game, but they also allow 3.23 goals, which puts them in the bottom third of the league.
Their defensive pairing of Drew Helleson and Jackson LaCombe has been brutalized for 3.44 expected goals and 15.19 high-danger chances per 60 minutes on the road. Goalie Lukas Dostal has saved just 74% of the high-danger shots he’s faced, putting him in a precarious position tonight.
NHL DFS Goalie to Target
Pyotr Kochetkov (CAR - $8400 DK)
Carolina goalie Pyotr Kochetkov has only played one game this season, but what a game it was. He shut out the Rangers, saving 26 shots in a win earlier this week. Last season, he was strong at home, allowing just 2.44 goals and saving 84% of the high-danger shots he faced. He’s a good goalie, and his performance against the Rangers wasn’t a fluke.
Tonight, he faces a Buffalo Sabres team who have scored just 2.28 even-strength goals on the road this season. Carolina has a strong defense, with only the pairing of Julian Chatfield and K’Andre Miller being below league average; however, those stats are based on a small sample size of just 33 minutes across three games.
Kochetkov is very expensive at $8,400, but that should help to keep his ownership down in tournaments. He’s the goalie you want to roster if you’re not using the Maple Leafs and have a couple of extra bucks to spend up at the position.
