Isaiah Likely is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for tight ends. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 9 of the 2022 NFL season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 10+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 5% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: I'm writing this post fully knowing about the existence of this man-machine named Mark Andrews that happens to play tight-end in Baltimore. Another tight end (sorry, Josh Oliver, we don't like you here) and TE2 in the team's depth chart, Isaiah Likely, is now at least worth taking as seriously as Andrews – as long as the latter remains off of football fields, that is.
Andrews was forced out of the Ravens' TNF matchup with the Bucs last week and that opened the door for Likely to finally play more than 21 snaps (36% share in W1) in a single game as he more than doubled that count all the way to 51 (67%). Andrews didn't practice leading up to the game and left it in the second quarter.
Likely took over the TE1 role and helped Lamar Jackson immensely catching six-of-seven targets for 77 yards and a score against Tampa. All of those numbers were, of course, season-best marks for Likely. This is reasonable considering last Thursday marked his first game in which the team used him more than just a tiny bit.
Prior to Week 8, Likely had posted a total stat line of 18-10-104-0. He did more than half of that in Week 8 alone, with a touchdown on top.
Likely's fantasy viability entirely depends on Andrews' injury and availability. If the superstar misses time then Likely has more than proved his worth and talents in the Ravens' offense if only for a single week. If Andrews is back, training, healthy, and racking up snap after snap, you can entirely forget about Likely.
