DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (1/31/17): NBA DFS Advice

It's a six game slate tonight and we have a lot of the big names playing. Some really great GPP options tonight, so it might be a chance for you to get in the money with so many great options. Ton of big name point guards on the board tonight, so you should to fit more than one in your roster.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/31/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on DraftKings. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @DFS_Tom.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Kyle Lowry - PG, vs NO ($8,600)

Even though DeMar DeRozan is back in the lineup for the Raptors, Lowry is still, and always a great option for NBA DFS. He has the upside to break the 50 point barrier, but he isn't as expensive as Westbrook or Wall. Lowry has scored 29 real points or more in four straight games, and is up against the Pelicans who are giving up 49 DraftKings points per game to point guards. I think he can be used in either cash or GPP lineups. Lowry still has a 27% usage rate when DeRozan is healthy, so expect him to get plenty of touches on offense and hit value for you against such a weak defensive team.

C.J. McCollum - SG vs CHA ($7,600)

McCollum is one of the big All-Star snubs this year, and in my opinion, it's a true shame. He along side Lillard, are one of the best back courts in the entire league, and they get no love. Nothing better than seeing a player from a mid major in college, turn out to a true star in the NBA. McCollum should be angry he didn't get picked for the All-Star game, and the best way to prove that is to put up big numbers on the court. He has scored 36 DraftKings points or more in three of his last four games and is up against the Hornets who are giving up 41 points per game to shooting guards. Really like him in this spot tonight, and his price is just right.

Brandon Jennings - PG, @ WAS ($5,100)

Jennings started last game with Rose out, and as of the time of writing this, (Monday night) Rose is still listed as questionable for the game vs the Wizards. When Jennings started on Sunday, he put up 43 DK points. Now, I know that game when to multiple overtimes, but if he can be any where as productive as he was in that game, he is a great play. The salary savings he gives you, knowing he is getting starter minutes is a great situation. But, really only an option if Mr. Glass bones, Derrick Rose, doesn't play.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

LaMarcus Aldridge - PF, vs OKC ($6,700)

Aldridge hasn't been having the best year, or been playing up to the level that many predicted he would have, but he is still in a solid spot tonight. The Thunder lost Enes Kanter due to a freak injury, and now are down a big man in their rotation. This leaves Aldridge in a good spot to have himself a solid fantasy night, since the Thunder are giving up 46 points per game to power forwards. I expect that number to change a bit, now since Kanter is out. Aldridge is a great cash game play and has some solid upside due to match up.

Ryan Anderson - PF, vs SAC ($5,000)

Anderson is a great player for some salary relief, but also give you exposure to the Houston Rockets, who have a high powered offense. Over his last four games, Anderson has scored 22 points or more in three of those games. This game tonight should be fast paced and have a high over/under, which will leave Anderson plenty of time to hit a few threes. Great option for cash games, since he doesn't have a ton of upside, given sharing the court with Harden. The Kings are giving up 46 points per game to power forwards.

Carmelo Anthony - SF, @ WAS ($7,500)

Call me crazy, but I like Carmelo in this spot tonight. For those of you who love a good narrative, he is playing at Washington tonight, he grew up in Baltimore, a stones throw from DC, and his career average vs the Wizards is 27 real points per game, which is his highest vs any team. Now that might be a stretch for some people, but the Knicks are basically a garbage truck on fire, and trading Melo might be their next move. Carmelo can still get it done on the floor, so if you are running multiple lineups, he is worth taking a shot.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Jusuf Nurkic - C, @ LAL ($5,000)

Nurkic is tabbed with another start since Denver's rising start, Nikola Jokicis still out with a minor injury. Nurkic really isn't that productive on the offense end, and is sometimes just in the game because he is a big body. But he can do just enough to hit value for you, and provides some much needed salary relief if you are trying to fit some of the bigger names in one lineup. I wouldn't say he is a punt play, but he isn't far from that.

Mason Plumlee - C, vs CHA ($6,500)

Plumlee is on a bit of heater, and is in a great spot to continue that streak. He has scored 33 DraftKings points or more in five straight games, and hasn't scored less than 22 DK points in his last ten. That is super consistent and exactly what you look for in a role player. His match up tonight vs the Hornets couldn't be better. The Hornets are giving up 52 points per game to centers, so it seems that the stars are aligning for this one and Plumlee will put up another solid night and hit value.
