Euro Tour DraftKings DFS Preview - HNA Open De France

Hello and welcome to RotoBaller's DraftKings DFS Euro Tour picks! At RotoBaller, we are committed to bringing our readers the most complete fantasy golf advice available, that means we offer DFS golf coverage on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.

The European Tour heads to Paris, France this week for the HNA Open De France. Some of the world's top golfers are in the field. European stars Tommy Fleetwood and Jon Rahm will tee it up alongside America's Justin Thomas. Le Golf National will once again play host to this year's tournament. The vintage layout will also host the Ryder Cup later this year. Accuracy will be of the utmost importance this week. Players will have to find fairways and greens to be successful, as Le Golf National will punish errant tee shots. Last year's champion Tommy Fleetwood ranked first in greens in regulation and third in driving accuracy on his way to the 2017 title.

Editor's Note: Our friends at Fantasy National have built some incredible DFS Golf lineup tools including a Lineup Optimizer, Stat Engine, Ownership Projections and Course Breakdowns. They are by far the best daily fantasy Golf tools in the industry. Seriously. You can read all about them here and see screenshots.

Elite Tier

Tommy Fleetwood - DraftKings - $11,100: I admit it...I'm a Tommy Fleetwood fan. Those of you that read this column regularly might be suffering from deja vu, as Fleetwood made an appearance last week. While I dislike being repetitive, I can't ignore how perfectly Fleetwood's game fits Le Golf National. I have major concerns about Justin Thomas and Jon Rahm being able to find fairways consistently enough to win the Open De France, but I have no such worries about Fleetwood. He ranks 28th on the PGA Tour this year in driving accuracy and stands at ninth overall in Strokes Gained: Tee to Green. I expect the Englishman to rebound from a disappointing outing in Germany last week and make a serious run at defending the title that he won last year.

Alex Noren - DraftKings - $10,400: We are sticking above 10k for our other elite tier play this week. Elite certainly describes Alex Noren's ball striking ability. When the Swede has his swing grooved, he rivals his fellow countryman Henrik Stenson's ability with the irons. Noren stands 15th on the PGA Tour in Strokes Gained: Approach this year, to go along with a solid ranking of 56th in driving accuracy. Noren began this season on an absolute tear, including a second at the Farmers Insurance Open, and third-place finishes at both the Honda Classic and WGC-Mexico event. We saw Noren cool off a bit in the spring, but he appears to have found his swing again recently with impressive showings at both The Players Championship and the U.S. Open. He is familiar with Le Golf National and logged an eighth place finish at the Open De France in 2016 and a T10 last year on this course.

Mid Tier

Ian Poulter - DraftKings - $9,400: I'm going with the cagey veteran Ian Poulter as my top mid tier selection. After wandering in the wilderness for a while, Poulter has re-emerged just in time for the 2018 Ryder Cup. The Englishman has had an amazing 2018 campaign, that began with finding a little magic in an old putter at the WGC-Match Play event. His performance there gave him some positive momentum that he carried to Texas the following week, when he captured the Houston Open and the first non-WGC PGA Tour title of his career. Poulter recently was in contention at the U.S. Open. I believe he will continue to play well in the Open De France on a golf course that suits his game very well.

Andy Sullivan - DraftKings - $9,200 As with Tommy Fleetwood, regular readers might be getting sick of seeing Andy Sullivan's name pop-up in this article. I am deploying the Sullivan strategy of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", so as long as our man continues to deliver, you will see his name here! The Englishman came through again for us last week, logging a top-ten finish at the BMW International Open. I'm auto-playing him again this week, not only due to his recent on-fire form, but for his excellent course history at Le Golf National. Sullivan grabbed a T5 in 2016 and a T13 last year at the legendary Paris track.

Value Tier

Ross Fisher - DraftKings - $8,300: Let's keep the English train going with Ross Fisher. Fisher has struggled mightily on U.S. soil this year, but he seems to find comfort across the pond. Fisher had a very successful fall season on the Euro Tour, before nosediving in his PGA Tour stretch. He popped up a couple of weeks ago at the BMW PGA Championship, that was held, you guessed it, in Europe. Fisher carried some of that momentum into the recent U.S. Open and managed to make the cut in a very difficult environment at Shinnecock Hills. The Englishman has fared well at Le Golf National in recent years, scoring a T7 in 2017 and a T22 in 2016. I expect Fisher's sharp iron play to keep him in the hunt this week at a course that he feels comfortable playing.

Alexander Levy - DraftKings - $7,400: Our final selection is a Frenchman that will be playing in front of his home crowd this week. Alex Levy was one of the hottest golfers in the world earlier this year. Levy ran off two top-five finishes and a win over a four tournament stretch in the spring. He has since cooled off and has struggled since making a trip to the U.S. for The Players Championship. Unfortunately, there are no clear indicators that Levy has turned things back around, but I like the fact that he will be in a relatively comfortable environment in his home country. The selection of Levy is very simply a price vs. upside choice. I believe that some recency bias played a factor in Levy's bargain pricing and that he will go largely overlooked this week. Though he hasn't shown great form lately, he has top-five upside.

Be sure to look out for another European Tour article coming next week and don't miss my weekly PGA DFS Horse For The Course right here at RotoBaller!
