Andrew Abbott - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Read our best NRFI betting picks today - Major League Baseball NRFI predictions for 6/10/2025. No Runs First Inning (NRFI) betting tips, expert MLB predictions, odds, and trends.

We've got a full slate with 15 games on Tuesday, so there are plenty of favorable spots to choose from to bring you my best NRFI bets today and bonus bets. The goal is to go 4-0 on our NRFI picks, which range from -120 to -130 odds today.

There are a few intriguing spots for scoreless first innings on Tuesday. Each game we've chosen featured pitchers who have performed well in the first inning, including MacKenzie Gore vs. Griffin Canning, Andrew Abbott vs. Slade Cecconi, Max Fried vs. Noah Cameron, and Shane Smith vs Lance McCullers Jr.

On this page, I'll provide my best NRFI bets today for MLB games on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Monitor the weather and lineups for each team before placing your wagers. Odds for these bets are from DraftKings Sportsbook.

What Are MLB NRFI/YRFI Bets?

NRFI bets are bets where you try to pick whether or not two MLB teams will combine for one run in the first inning. YRFI stands for "Yes Run First Inning," while NRFI means "No Run First Inning."

We prefer to target NRFI because it tends to occur more often, which is why you usually see shorter odds compared to YRFI. It's also just more enjoyable -- whenever I take a YRFI, it feels like an inevitable loss. There's nothing more tilting than watching your team strand base-runners when you need them to score in the first inning. If you're taking the YRFI, I suggest not even watching the game.

The best part of NRFI wagers is how they settle so quickly. This is a fun sweat, as these six outs can be thrilling, especially if your pitcher works his way out of a jam. Just remember to only go with a smaller percentage of your bankroll because this can be a volatile market with even the best pitchers struggling in the first inning at times.

Best First Inning Bets Today (June 10, 2025)

  • Cincinnati Reds at Cleveland Guardians: 6:40 pm
  • Washington Nationals at New York Mets: 7:10 pm
  • New York Yankees at Kansas City Royals: 7:40 pm
  • Chicago White Sox at Houston Astros: 8:10 pm

Cincinnati Reds at Cleveland Guardians NRFI (-120 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Starting Pitchers

  • CIN: Andrew Abbott
  • CLE: Slade Cecconi

The first NRFI starts with a potential low-scoring game between the Reds and Guardians, as highlighted by the full-game total of eight runs.

The Reds send out lefty Andrew Abbott, who has posted a 2.18 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in 53.2 innings. This is a great spot against the Guardians, who have registered a 74 wRC+ (T-23rd) and 25.4 K% (T-24th) against lefties.

It also helps that Abbott has performed well against the NRFI, with a 10-0 record on the season.

Cleveland counters with Slade Cecconi, who has had his issues so far this year, but he's done a great job in the first time through the order, allowing a .179 wOBA with zero runs in 9.2 innings.

The young righty who came to the Guardians in the Josh Naylor trade has a 4-0 NRFI record this season.

When you consider Cleveland's struggles vs lefties combined with Cecconi's success early in his outings, you have to love getting this NRFI at a reasonable price of (-120) odds.

Washington Nationals at New York Mets NRFI (-130 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Starting Pitchers

  • WAS: MacKenzie Gore
  • NYM: Griffin Canning

The next NRFI features a potential pitcher's duel between the Nationals and Mets.

Let's start with MacKenzie Gore, who is pitching like an ace this season. This lefty has posted a 35.4% strikeout rate and 2.50 SIERA this year. Those are elite numbers that rank near the top of MLB.

We saw Gore do a great job in the first inning before, with a 10-3 NRFI record.

The Mets are going with Griffin Canning, who has posted an impressive 2.90 ERA on the season. The veteran righty has been at his best in the first time through the order, including a 2.13 ERA and .289 wOBA allowed.

On top of that, Canning has a good record against the NRFI at 10-2.

Despite the strong pitching matchup and 7.5-run total, we only have to pay (-130) for the NRFI, making it an appealing pick tonight.

New York Yankees at Kansas City Royals NRFI (-120 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Starting Pitchers

  • NYY: Max Fried
  • KC: Noah Cameron

The third NRFI heads to Kansas City, where we have an AL Cy Young candidate on the mound.

Max Fried has exceeded expectations with the Yankees, posting a 1.78 ERA on the season. This includes dominance in the first inning, as highlighted by an 11-2 record.

The Royals are rolling with Noah Cameron, who has been terrific in his rookie season, putting up a 0.85 ERA in 31.2 innings. While the peripherals don't match with the surface stats (4.84 SIERA), we'll bet against regression until we see it happen on the field.

I like getting a (-120) price in a game in a pitcher-friendly environment with Fried on the mound, so let's ride with the NRFI here.

Chicago White Sox at Houston Astros NRFI (-130 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Starting Pitchers

  • CHW: Shane Smith
  • HOU: Lance McCullers Jr.

The last NRFI on my Tuesday betting card features an intriguing pitching matchup.

Shane Smith has been fantastic against the NRFI this season, including a 10-2 record. This is a rookie who has done a great job this season, as highlighted by a 2.45 ERA.

While it's a tough spot on the road against the Astros, all we need is a scoreless inning here. Plus, you have to like that the full-game total is listed at 7.5 runs.

What's even better is that we have a red-hot Lance McCullers on the other side. Just take a look at his last two starts:

  • 6 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K
  • 6 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 12 K

It's clear that McCullers is getting comfortable after such a long lay-off, as highlighted by his 19 strikeouts in 12 innings in his last two starts.

There's a good chance that the Astros' righty can keep it rolling at home against the White Sox. Despite the low game total in a matchup with two intriguing pitchers, we only need to pay (-130) on this prop, making it worth a look.

Notable NRFI/YRFI MLB Trends: Last 10 Games

  • Best NRFI hit rate: White Sox, Guardians (9)
  • Best YRFI hit rate: Athletics (4)
  • Most First Inning Home Runs: Royals, Angels, Yankees (4)
  • Best First Inning Batting Average: Athletics (.362)

Conclusion: Best MLB NRFI Bets Today (June 10, 2025)

As we head into a full Tuesday slate of games, today's MLB NRFI bets offer plenty of value with favorable pitching matchups and helpful trends. The focus of today's column was on pitchers who excel in the first inning, even if their overall numbers aren't great.

Whether you're targeting pitchers with elite strikeout rates or teams on extended NRFI streaks, this slate has something for every bettor looking for that quick six-out sweat.

Be sure to monitor starting lineups and weather before locking anything in, but don’t wait too long—some of these NRFI odds could shift as the public piles in. With pitchers like Fried leading the charge, we can feel confident in a profitable night here.
