Fantasy Baseball Trade Outlooks
Below are some fantasy baseball outlooks written by our MLB team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy baseball analysis and advice on which players to consider trading for or trading away heading into Week 7:
Pete Alonso, 1B, Baltimore Orioles
Trade Value: 53
ROS Rank: 42
Baltimore Orioles first baseman Pete Alonso had an eight-game hitting streak earlier this month, but he's only hitting .211 (34-for-161) so far in 43 games in his first season with the O's. The former National League Rookie of the Year and five-time All-Star also has a career-low .306 on-base percentage, career-low .728 OPS, eight home runs, 22 RBI, 27 runs scored, and one stolen base in 183 plate appearances to this point.
Since his eight-game hitting streak, Alonso has gone 1-for-15 at the plate with no walks and four strikeouts in the last four contests. The Polar Bear has underwhelmed through the first month-plus of 2026, but savvy fantasy managers in need of power should be trying to acquire him for pennies on the dollar. Despite his lackluster production so far, Alonso is in the 94th percentile in hard-hit rate and the 72nd percentile in xwOBA.
His expected slugging percentage also sits at .468 despite currently being an uncharacteristic .422. The 31-year-old elite power hitter should settle in eventually to his new environment.
Verdict: Prime buy-low candidate. While Alonso has begun to slowly turn the corner in Baltimore, he has yet to reach his previous levels of production.
Corbin Carroll, OF, Arizona Diamondbacks
Trade Value: 80
ROS Rank: 12
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is hitting just .179 (7-for-39) in 11 games so far in June, but he might be on the verge of breaking out in 2026. Carroll has hits in five of his last six games and has gone 6-for-20 (.300) during that stretch with a homer, two doubles, an RBI, four runs scored, three walks, and two strikeouts in 24 plate appearances.
Still, the 25-year-old former National League Rookie of the Year and two-time All-Star has underwhelmed relative to his standards so far in 2026. Through 137 at-bats, Carroll is slashing .263/.364/.496 but with an .861 OPS, five home runs, 20 RBI, 25 runs scored, and four stolen bases. He went 1-for-19 at the plate to begin the month of May.
Carroll currently sits in the 72nd percentile in xwOBA, but he's also uncharacteristically in the 57th percentile in hard-hit rate on the year. He's striking out more than usual, but the good news is that he's still getting on base plenty and taking his free passes. Now is the time for fantasy managers to buy low on Carroll, who had the first 30-30 season of his career in 2025.
Verdict: While Carroll's trade price is still high, managers looking to acquire a potential superstar at his "lowest" cost should look to do so in the immediate future.
Manny Machado, 3B, San Diego Padres
Trade Value: 46
ROS Rank: 54
San Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado (calf) is serving as the designated hitter and is batting third for the Friars in Wednesday's series finale against the Chicago Cubs and right-hander Jameson Taillon at Petco Park, per MLB.com. With Machado at DH, Miguel Andujar will get the start at third base and bat sixth.
The 33-year-old Machado was removed early as a precaution due to calf cramps on Monday, and he sat out of Tuesday's loss to Chicago in Game 2 of the series. Now that the seven-time All-Star is back in the starting lineup, fantasy managers will want to get him back into their starting lineups. Machado hadn't done much at the plate this year until homering twice in Mexico City on Sunday and hitting two doubles before his early exit on Monday night.
He's now hitting .232/.342/.400 with a .742 OPS, four home runs, 16 RBI, 18 runs scored, and a steal in his 95 at-bats in 2026. Machado has gone hitless in just four career at-bats versus Taillon.
Verdict: Top buy-low candidate amid slow start to the season. Managers needing a boost at 3B/CI should prioritize Machado in trade packages.
Jeff Hoffman, RP, Toronto Blue Jays
Trade Value: 6
ROS Rank: 259
Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Jeff Hoffman was pulled out of the closer role after struggling to begin the season. Hoffman has handled it well and has been putting together quality outings lately. Recently, Jays' manager John Schneider spoke about the possibility of Hoffman returning to the closer role in the future.
He mentioned that the team will continue to go with a committee, which should include Hoffman if he continues to pitch well. It doesn't sound like Hoffman is going to fully regain the closer role, but he should get chances to close out games. If that happens, Hoffman could be someone worth scooping up on the waiver wire, assuming he begins pitching in the ninth inning again.
Verdict: Managers should consider selling Hoffman "high" once he begins to see occasional savings opportunities. His replacement, Louis Varland, has been far more effective, and even if it were to revert to a committee, Hoffman would likely get the smaller end of the saves count.
Fantasy Baseball Trade Rankings Values
The higher the Trade Value number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Find your players, add up the trade values of each side of the offer, and see which side of the trade wins.
Who Should I Trade For?
Week 3 Trade Decisions. Today's focus is on specific players - Pete Alonso, Manny Machado, Jeff Hoffman, Corbin Carroll, Garrett Crochet, Jeremy Pena, Bo Bichette. These are some key fantasy baseball names heading into this week's matchups.
Using The Trade Values. This is a simple trade value tool, but very powerful. In our fantasy baseball trade value rankings above, you will see the Trade Value for each player. The higher the number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Players with a high trade value number are players that you should be targeting more in trades.
How It Works. Each week, our RotoBaller staff puts together their weekly fantasy baseball rankings, projections, and trade values based on their research. That information is the core data that is powering the decision-making in this trade value rankings.
How To Calculate Trades. Fantasy baseball managers will make 1-for-1 trades, or 2-for-3 trades, or 3-for-2 trades, or many other combinations. For each side of the deal, add the trade values together. Whichever side has a higher total number wins the trade. For example, if someone is offering you three players, add the trade values of those three players together. Does the value of those three players exceed the values of the player(s) you are trading away? If so then it's a good deal for you.
