FanDuel MLB Lineup Picks (7/4/21): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

JorgePucks highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 7/4/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Happy 4th of July everyone! We have a nice-sized Sunday main slate to dissect with lots of batting and pitching options for us to consider. We have some good pitching options on this slate so we will need to figure out which one can get us a few strikeouts and a win while also choosing between some great offenses like Houston, Atlanta, and San Diego to choose from.

I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 7/4/21. Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate.

You can also check out today's FanDuels MLB DFS lineup picks, and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. Let's get to it!

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Cash Game/GPP Anchor Play:

Robbie Ray - TOR vs. TBR ($10,800)

If spending up at the pitcher spot on the slate, Robbie Ray is one of the safest arms to consider. Lefties against the Rays has worked pretty well all season long and Ry has been one of the more consistent lefty pitchers in the majors this season. He has churned out 10 quality starts over his last 13 appearances and has had at least five strikeouts in each game during that stretch. When looking at Tampa's offense, they have the most strikeouts on the year against that handedness and that trend carries over to recent days as they have the sixth-most strikeouts against lefties over their last 14 days.

Alternate Play(s)

Freddy Peralta - MIL @ PIT ($9,900)

Another high-priced pitching option on this slate to look at is Freddy Peralta. Peralta has been in great form as he has recorded quality starts in five out of the last six games that he has pitched in and has recorded 46 strikeouts during that six-game stretch. Pittsburgh has struggled at the plate against right-handed pitchers as they are only averaging .215 against this handedness over their last 14 days which is worse than their season average of .229. One benefit for Peralta is that Pittsburgh has six batters that all have a strikeout rate that is greater than 21% and only three batters that sport an ISO that is greater than .185 so if he can work around a few bats, he should come in as one of the top pitching options on the slate.

Other recommended value pitching options: Lucas Giolito vs. Detroit Tigers, Charlie Morton vs. Miami Marlins

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Jake Cronenworth - 1B, SDP @ PHI ($3,200)

One of the better hitters against right-handed pitchers is Jake Cronenworth. He is slashing .280 on the year and has the second-most home runs on the Padres against that handedness with 10 dongs. Cronenworth is moderately priced and should be batting in the middle of the Padres lineup so he is always worth consideration, especially against a pitcher like Vince Velasquez.

Hanser Alberto - 2B, KCR vs. MIN ($2,200)

In order to get some of these bigger bats and pitchers into our lineups, we should look for some solid value and Hanser Alberto fits what we are looking for. He is swinging a hot bat in this series against the Twins as he has collected four hits in eight at-bats while also knocking one out on Friday night. Alberto is hitting .286 against right-handed pitchers this year and Kenta Maeda has struggled all year long so hopefully Alberto can continue his hot form into Sunday's game as well.

Kris Bryant - 3B, CHC @ CIN ($3,400)

The pricing on Bryant is just too good to pass up on especially with him getting several at-bats against a lefty pitcher in Wade Miley. Bryant has done well against lefties this year as he is hitting .344 on the season while also managing to sport an ISO of .326 against that handedness as well. Miley is a crafty veteran pitcher that has done well this year but Bryant profiles well against both his cutter and changeup which he throws 76% of the time to right-handed batters.

Willy Adames - SS, MIL @ PIT ($3,100)

Adames has been a really valuable player for the Brewers ever since he got traded and he has turned out to be a lefty masher at the plate. On the year, Adames is hitting .309 agaisnt lefties and is third on the team with seven home runs against this handedness. Tyler Anderson will be on the bump for the Pirates and he throws his changeup and fastball for a combined 70% of the time to righties which Adames profiles very well against as he has a .227+ ISO and a .446+ XwOBA against both pitch types.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Jesse Winker  - OF, CIN vs. CHC ($4,300)

Winker is one of the top batting options on the slate and shouldn't be ignored. He is hitting .355 against right-handed pitching this season and leads the Reds offense with 18 home runs against this handedness. Kyle Hendricks will be on the mound for the Cubs and despite him having a solid record and ERA, this looks to be a matchup that will be tough for him. Hendricks is allowing lefties to average .302 against him and Winker is sporting a .341 ISO and a .487 XwOBA and he profiles well against Hendrick's fastball and changeup that he throws 70% of the time to left-handed batters.

Randal Grichuk - OF, TOR vs. TBR ($3,000)

Grichuk has been know to hit left-handed pitching well and for his price point of just 3k, he makes for a great all-around type of play on this slate. He is averaging .303 and is tied for the third-most home runs on the Blue Jays against the handedness with four. Ryan Yarbrough will be on the hill for the Rays and while he has pitched well to both sides of the plate, he has coughed up the long ball to right-handed batters as 12 home runs have been hit off of him from that side of the plate.

Wil Myers – OF, SDP @ PHI (2,300)

If Myers gets a start into the Padres lineup on Sunday afternoon, he makes for a great value play, especially for his price tag. Myers is hitting .260 on the year against right-handed pitching and is tied for fourth on the team with seven home runs against this handedness. Righties have a .206 ISO against Velasquez this season and Myers has a .216 ISO against right-handed pitchers so if you want a value play with some home run potential, look no further than Myers.
