Top 300 Fantasy Baseball Rankings (Week 19) - Rest-of-Season Outlooks for Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Lawrence Butler, Tyler Fitzgerald, Zach Eflin, more

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. - Fantasy Baseball

Nick's updated top 300 fantasy baseball rankings for roto as of Week 19 (July 27, 2024). His rest-of-season rankings and projections for hitters and pitchers.

Hey, RotoBallers, here are more fantasy baseball rankings! The MLB trade deadline is next week, and more players are expected to be moved as teams look to acquire pieces for the World Series run. The Rays have had a firesale so far by trading Randy Arozarena to the Mariners and dealing Zach Eflin to the Orioles. We break it all down for you with Nick Mariano's updated 2024 fantasy baseball rankings and tiers for roto leagues (5x5 mixed leagues) as of July 27, 2024.

These rankings are released in late July, as Nick provides his rest-of-season fantasy baseball rankings and player values for the rest of this MLB season from this point forward. We are following many interesting storylines closely, all baked into these updated rankings, and you can see them below. Let's see where players such as Randy Arozarena, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Zach Eflin, Lawrence Butler, Tyler Fitzgerald, Mike Trout, Jacob deGrom, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Royce Lewis currently rank. All of them have been performing well recently, struggling or returning from injury soon in 2024.

Some players are off to a great start in the second half, while some have struggled mightily. Which trends do we take seriously, and which do we put less stock into? Is it time to elevate our expectations on certain players and elevate touted prospects into a higher tier for fantasy baseball leagues? How much patience must we show for highly touted players who continue to struggle, especially veterans with proven track records? Hopefully, the rankings below will give you some perspective on our thoughts on these topics and help you assess the strength of your rosters going forward.

Rest-Of-Season Fantasy Baseball Rankings - Week 19 Notes

We recently saw top prospects, such as David Festa and Connor Norby, promoted to the big leagues. Norby went deep in his return to the majors and is expected to get regular playing time, per Orioles manager Brandon Hyde. The 24-year-old slashed .300/.392/.522 with 16 home runs, 57 RBI, 71 runs, and 13 stolen bases over 80 games with Triple-Norfolk. Festa came out of the bullpen and racked up seven strikeouts while allowing one run over 4 1/3 innings in his last appearance.

Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been on fire recently. The 25-year-old is hitting .464 (13-for-28) and has homered five times over his last eight games. Since June 1, Vlad Jr. has been slashing .309/.352/.590 with 13 home runs and 37 RBI over 47 games. The Blue Jays are sellers this year and have already moved on from relief pitcher Yimi Garcia. Toronto is not done yet and could make more deals before the trade deadline on July 30. Guerrero could have a whole new supporting cast after Tuesday. Oakland A's outfielder Brent Rooker is a name to watch out for before the trade deadline. Rooker has been swinging a hot bat and has crushed seven homers while driving in 16 runs over his previous 10 games.

Injuries continue to pile up. The Seattle Mariners placed outfielder Julio Rodriguez and J.P. Crawford on the injured list. New York Mets right-hander Kodai Senga strained his left calf during the sixth inning of Friday's win over the Atlanta Braves. Senga is expected to miss the rest of the season. Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter was shut down from baseball activities and will get a second opinion on his lower back. Los Angeles Angels star outfielder Mike Trout was pulled from a rehab assignment at Triple-A Salt Lake. Trout underwent an MRI on his left knee, which came back clean. The 32-year-old has been on the injured list since April 30 as he continues to work his way back from knee surgery.

Reinforcements are coming. San Francisco Giants right-hander Alex Cobb could return next week and make his season debut. Cobb has been out all season due to hip and shoulder injuries. Arizona Diamondbacks pitchers Merrill Kelly and Eduardo Rodriguez both threw simulated games. Kelly and Rodriguez are on track to return in August. New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton is hopeful about returning to action on Monday after missing a month due to a left hamstring strain.

Some notable performances include Oakland A's outfielder Lawrence Butler. The 24-year-old continues to rake for fantasy managers, slashing .474/.535/1.105 with five home runs, 15 RBI, 12 runs, and a stolen base over his last nine games. Butler has logged multi-hit efforts in seven of those nine contests. Since returning to the majors on July 4, Washington Nationals outfielder Juan Yepez is slashing .375/.423/.609 with two home runs, 10 RBI, 12 runs, and a stolen base over 71 plate appearances. San Francisco Giants outfielder Tyler Fitzgerald has come out of nowhere to crush six home runs and log 11 RBI over his last seven games. Fitzgerald is slashing .330/.400/.660 with eight home runs, 18 RBI, 24 runs scored, and seven stolen bases through 42 games.

Top 300 Fantasy Baseball Rankings - Week 19 Updates

These rankings will be updated weekly throughout the season, so some situations are very fluid. It's not panic time yet, and we may not be ready to elevate hot-starting players into the elite yet, but it's certainly a good checkpoint for the long fantasy season.
