Chigoziem Okonkwo 2023 NFL Player Outlook: Huge Opportunity As New TE1 In Tennessee
2 years agoTennessee Titans tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo, or "Chig" for short, had a mini-breakout as a rookie last season. He showed flashes early in the season but never saw more than a handful of targets in a game. That is until Week 12, when Okonkwo saw five targets. From that point forward, he averaged 4.4 targets per game on just a 45% snap share. His target rate of 33.3% was good for second amongst all tight ends last season. Per PlayerProfiler, his average depth of target (aDoT) ranked 11th, while his yards per route run (3.26) ranked first amongst all tight ends. In 2023, he no longer has to fend off Austin Hooper. Okonkwo is the unquestioned TE1 in Tennessee and will look to build upon his efficient and productive rookie season metrics. Consider Chig a low-end TE1 with a legitimate top-5 upside in his sophomore season.
