Players to Target in Trades for Fantasy Baseball

Cal Raleigh, C, Seattle Mariners

Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh (oblique) will start a minor-league rehab assignment this Sunday at High-A Everett, according to Daniel Kramer of MLB.com. From there, the plan is for Raleigh to transition to Triple-A Tacoma and play the rest of the week there. After that, the Mariners will reassess Raleigh's status. Barring a setback once the left-handed slugger resumes playing in games, he could rejoin the active MLB roster for the start of a homestand on June 16.

The 29-year-old former third-round pick in 2018 out of Florida State University was a first-time All-Star in 2025 after he led the league in home runs (60) and RBI (125) in 159 regular-season games. Things have not gone swimmingly for Raleigh so far in 2026, though, as he currently owns a .161/.243/.317 slash line with an ugly .560 OPS and 31.5% strikeout rate in 181 plate appearances.

Fantasy managers must hold him through his slump and injury, though, and hope he can turn things around when he returns. Raleigh has elite raw power at the catching position and has slugged at least 30 homers in each of his last three seasons.

Verdict: Top buy-low candidate amid his injury and slow start. Managers could be acquiring one of the premier power bats at a massive discount.

Hunter Brown, SP, Houston Astros

Houston Astros right-hander Hunter Brown (shoulder) threw a bullpen on Tuesday at Daikin Park and will make his next minor-league rehab start for Triple-A Sugar Land at El Paso on Thursday, according to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com. Depending on how Brown fares this week, it could be the 27-year-old's final rehab tune-up before he is reinstated from the 60-day injured list. He has been recovering from a strained right shoulder that has limited him to just two starts in 2026.

Brown allowed one run with five strikeouts and no walks in his most recent rehab start with Sugar Land last Friday over just three innings. He will be looking to build his pitch count and get stretched out on Thursday. Brown, a former fifth-rounder in 2019 out of Wayne State University, broke out for the Astros in 2025 and had allowed only one earned run with six walks and 17 punchouts in 10 2/3 innings in his first two starts this season before his shoulder ailment sidelined him.

Verdict: Prime buy-low target ahead of his eventual return to the mound.

Other Players to Target in Trades

  • Kyle Tucker, OF
  • Brandon Woodruff, SP

Players to Trade Away for Fantasy Baseball

Logan Henderson, SP, Milwaukee Brewers

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Logan Henderson (back) received an injection in his back on Tuesday. The right-hander landed on the Injured List earlier this week due to a lower-back strain. The injection should hopefully help, but Henderson is expected to be sidelined 3-5 weeks. This is a tough blow to the Brewers' rotation, given how well Henderson has been pitching this season.

Across five starts, Henderson owns a 2.74 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and a 30:6 K:BB ratio this season. This timetable should put Henderson's return around late June or early July. There's no clear favorite to take over Henderson's spot in the rotation right now. Fantasy managers should hold onto Henderson through this injury.

Verdict: While Henderson has shown high-end upside when on the bump, the young right-hander has battled many injuries in his young career. Given this setback, the Brewers may look to limit him down the stretch.

Riley O'Brien, RP, St. Louis Cardinals

St. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Riley O'Brien took the loss on Tuesday after giving up three runs in the ninth inning, but the team went right back to the 31-year-old righty on Wednesday in a save situation. O'Brien entered to start the ninth inning with a 5-3 lead and walked the leadoff batter, but he escaped with no damage done, getting Josh Jung to fly out to end the game.

O'Brien has 15 saves in his 27 games with a 3.95 ERA and 2.66 FIP. While things have been a little bumpy lately, he still seems to be clearly the go-to option for the Cardinals at the end of the game and can continue to be used as a strong closer option, even though he's not quite as dominant as the truly elite relievers.

Verdict: Emerging as a sell-high candidate. Managers should look to sell O'Brien after he bounces back as his closer seat continues to get warm with a top setup option in JoJo Romero behind him.

Other Players to Trade Away
