Welcome to the July 28th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on the July 27th games. Enjoy them. - Sign says 'Ring Bell for HR'. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Three HR in seven games.

- So majestic. Eloy Jimenez does his 459-ft care bear stare.
- Juan Soto (18) & Bryce Harper (19) treating the season like an ultra-marathon. Steady pace.
- Take my Lux, take my Gleyber; But God pleeeease, don't take Trea Turner.
- Beth I hear you callin', but I can't come home right now. Harrison Bader playin', & I just can't leave the sound. Beth, what can I do?
- Cedric Mullins has earned an all-expense paid weekend stay at the O.Henry. I'm sure Greensboro will spring for it. Have some afternoon tea.
- Lewin Diaz (three) celebrates his dream come true. No, do not grab him. Let him celebrate on the waiver wire.
- Austin Hays (10) finally reaches the top on his bike. Smooth downhill sailing now. Gonna be a big "second half" or I'm getting a great discount in 2022.
- No, no, no, no...shhhhh. Hushhhh. **Yep, dirty finger on Charlie Morton's lips** No talk of retirement. Five more wins in 2021. Do it again in 2022.
- Jeff McNeil getting some 69% rostered love. Is it enough?
- Only four hits vs Brian Anderson & Co.?! C'mon PIT.
- You really want to know what happens when you rip your tongue off a frozen flagpole? Ask Jerad Eickhoff (3.1 IP, 10 ER). Yes, there will be some &$%#!@.
- Paul DeJong (14th HR), why'd they stick you in the back of the line? Didn't you tell them about your .219 BABIP?
- Omar Narvaez (ninth HR) playing in the mud for 30 days (.242 AVG) & still has a clean .289 AVG. Must be Tide.
- Ever think the people in the fantasy baseball community are ageists, Adam Wainwright? (Only 78% rostered)
- Jose Ramirez, that is so rude of them to give you your cake (21st HR), but not let you eat it too (third CS)
- Jordan Montgomery doesn't care about the energy bill (102 pitches to get through five innings). 4.04 SIERA could be lowered.
- Anthony Rizzo & Kris Bryant continue to share a few Patrick Wisdom moments together.
- Ryan LaMarre, wasn't he the bad guy in a movie. Bad guy gets second HR.
- ENOUGH! This stops right now! Joey Votto w/ six HR, .417 AVG in last seven games & only 53% rostered?! SHENANIGANS!
- Hampton Roads men do it again. One flexes power, Brandon Lowe. One flexes speed, Nate Lowe. What? You thought it would be opposite?
- Hansel Robles w/ 0.2 IP, 4 ER. My shoulder doesn't hurt, but my face does. Right here Not here, or here so much, but right here.
- Do you like 3.96 SIERA, 1.05 WHIP w/ 17% K-BB? Then you like Austin Gomber. Done. No discussion.
- Mitch Garver expresses his authority w/ 433-ft shot. Eric Haase sits on a rocking chair & enjoys his peach cobbler & 362-ft view.
- Abraham Toro didn't take long to sing to HOU. "Don't know what you got, til it's gone."
- A 6'4, 235 lb beast wants a base, let C.J. Cron have a base.
- Of course, we'd want Akil Baddoo to make a little more contact, but don't be greedy.
- I know I'm late to the party, but I heard Logan Webb had 3.50 SIERA w/ 17% K-BB. Do I take a number?
- Fernando Tatis Jr. just trying to keep up w/ Melancon. #31. Gonna be a photo finish.
