Recent Update

7/7:The Angels recalled 1B/DH C.J. Cron from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday. Parker Bridwell was optioned yesterday, clearing a spot on the 25-man roster for Cron. With Albert Pujols, Luis Valbuena and Jefry Marte all currently on the roster, it does not appear that Cron will have consistent playing time, and he may be serving primarily as a bench bat. The Angels will need a fifth starter shortly after the all-star break, and unless Cron plays well in the meantime he is a candidate to get sent back down. The 27-year-old has disappointed so far this season, hitting .212 with two home runs and 14 RBI in 188 at-bats. He is worth keeping an eye on in deep mixed and AL-only formats if he can recapture some of the magic from last year’s .278 with 16 home runs, but more than likely he will not be worth a roster spot.--Andy P - RotoBaller
