What Time is 'Monday Night Football'? 2024 Week 6 NFL Schedule

Five Fantasy Football Overvalued Quarterbacks

How can I watch Week 6's Monday Night Football game? Bruce runs down how to watch and what to look out for.

Six weeks are wrapped up approximately three hours after the kickoff of tonight's game, and excitement continues to blossom as each team hits its strides and identifies how the season will unfold.

Monday Night Football this week is a matchup between two teams trying to course-correct their seasons as the 3-2 Buffalo Bills travel to face the 2-3 division foe New York Jets.

This piece will break down Week 6's Monday Night Football game, highlighting the teams, start times, and key players to watch.

Who is Playing on Monday Night Football?

Week 6 ends with two AFC East teams with high preseason hopes trying to salvage their season in the first half of the year. Both Buffalo and New York are losers of two consecutive games and would love to notch a win for the first time in a little while.

Both of these teams are coming off of losses involving some controversy. The Bills found themselves on the losing end of a game against the Houston Texans in Week 5, where quarterback Josh Allen seemingly lost consciousness for a moment while the team allegedly gave him smelling salts instead of a thorough concussion evaluation.

Meanwhile, the Jets suffered an agonizing loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5 on a trip to London and fired head coach Robert Saleh over it. It's rare for a team to move to an interim coach this early in a season and have it lead to a playoff berth, but new stand-in coach Jeff Ulbrich hopes to straighten out the recent struggles.

When and How Can I Watch The Game?

Week 6's Monday Night Football game is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. Eastern on Monday night. How you watch it will depend on how you typically consume television.

You can watch the Monday night game on ESPN if you have cable or satellite. ESPN2 will have the Manningcast option involving Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, and Bill Belichick.

Additionally, if you consume live television through other streaming sites (such as Hulu+, YouTubeTV, or Sling), ESPN and ESPN2 are usually streamable. The costs of those apps vary.

Who is Going to Win?

The road Buffalo Bills have emerged as betting favorites over the New York Jets, with Buffalo giving 2.5 points.

Buffalo's biggest challenge on offense this season has been the lack of meaningful receiving options for Allen to reliably throw to. The elite quarterback made due early in the season, completing 75% of his passes with 8.81 yards per attempt through the first three weeks.

Those numbers plummeted over the last two weeks, dropping to a, frankly disgusting, 42% completion rate and 5.27 yards per attempt in those games.

It does not get easier for the passing attack for Buffalo in Week 6. The New York Jets' struggles have been on the offensive side of the ball, as their secondary has been elite through the first five games. Buffalo would need to be more efficient on the ground to help with the lack of connection with the passing game, as the Jets will thrive in must-pass situations on defense.

Jets' quarterback Aaron Rodgers is having his least efficient passing season in his career so far, and running back Breece Hall has been one of the biggest disappointments this season. So far, they have thrived in situations where they can rely on their defense to win.

The problem is that, if Buffalo gets hot as they are capable of being, New York will need to rely on their offense and that is something we haven't seen yet this season.

The Bills win if they make the game their game—a high-flying passing game with efficient running in a high-scoring affair. The Jets win if they make the game their game as well—a low-scoring, ball-control game where the defense makes frequent stops. Styles make fights, as they say, and this should be a very interesting game because of it.
