Zach LaVine 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoChicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine surprised many last season as he put up monster numbers with 23.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.9 makes from three on a more than respectable shooting split of .467/.374/.832 in 63 games of action. LaVine has added that his goal is to play 82 games this season, but assuming the Bulls will most likely be in the lottery once again, we could easily see the former Slam-Dunk Champion taking some games off as the season nears an end. Either way, he has mid-round value written all over him at the worst. LaVine did see his scoring take a slight dip (24.8 points to 23.7 points a night) when Lauri Markkanen returned to the lineup, but we saw his field-goal percentage improve from 43.0% to 46.7% as the defensive focus shifted a bit off of LaVine. LaVine will not be a steal in this year’s drafts as he was last season and owners who are need of scoring and some other balanced numbers by the third or fourth round, should take a serious look at this high flyer.
