Rob Gronkowski 2018 Outlook: Another Year, Another Top-TE Season On Tap
6 years agoYes, water is still wet. Yes, the sky is still blue. Yes, Rob Gronkowski is still the number one tight end option in fantasy football. Gronkowski is currently being drafted at the end of the second round/beginning of the third round, which is a comfortable area for the eight-year veteran out of the University of Arizona. That draft range is very nice for fantasy owners, considering that in years prior, we used to have to use our first round pick in order to obtain Gronk's services on our personal team.
Although injury concerns are always prevalent with the highly talented pass-catcher, the risk-to-reward payoff is completely worth it. When healthy, Gronkowski has been far-and-away the best option at the position we have ever seen in fantasy football. Last season, the tight end missed just two games and still finished with 69 catches, 1,084 yards and eight touchdowns. This year, the Patriots will be without the talents of Danny Amendola and Dion Lewis while Julian Edelman will be suspended for four games to start the season. All signs are pointing toward another strong year by Gronkowski, especially in the early-going of the season.
