Patrick Queen 2021 Outlook: A Gambit Worth Making at Linebacker
3 years agoPatrick Queen found himself in a fantastic landing spot after the 2020 draft, taking over the job of middle linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens. Queen responded to his first-round selection with 106 tackles (66 solo), nine tackles for loss, one interception, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and 3.0 sacks in his first season. Queen led a super talented Ravens defense in tackles despite being on the field for just 80% of the defensive snaps. It is very reasonable to believe that Queen will be on the field even more his second year now that he has had time to learn the defense and acclimate himself to the NFL. Baltimore has a stellar front four on the defensive line to allow Queen to move around freely at the second level and he has the speed to keep up with running backs out of the backfield on pass plays. Queen finished last season as IDP20 by averaging 12.0 points per week. Both of those numbers should climb in his second season in the NFL, making him a great upside pick if you want to focus on edge rushers or versatile safeties earlier in your fantasy draft.
