Mike Tauchman Scratched With Sore Shoulder
Mike Tauchman (shoulder) has been scratched from the starting lineup for Wednesday's series finale against the division-rival Detroit Tigers due to right-shoulder soreness, according to Bruce Levine of 670 The Score. Manager Will Venable said that Tauchman is considered day-to-day for now, and the team doesn't have plans to get imaging on him yet. Brooks Baldwin will now play right field and bat eighth, while catcher Kyle Teel serves as the designated hitter and bats leadoff against Tigers rookie right-hander Troy Melton. Tauchman has hit a decent .277 (66-for-238) on the year but with only eight home runs, 31 RBI an 32 runs scored for the worst team in the American League. Teel will be a DFS sleeper at catcher, although he has only two homers and 13 RBI in his first 149 MLB plate appearances.
