Kenny Stills 2019 Outlook: Choice Of Quarterback Key In Outlook
6 years agoMiami Dolphins wide receiver has a great chance for a rebound season, but his overall value depends on who is given the starting quarterback job. Ryan Fitzpatrick has shown throughout his career that he is not afraid of taking chances with the ball downfield, which is where Stills has consistently excelled during his career. Fitzpatrick was able to demonstrate that talent in the early part of last season where downfield threat DeSean Jackson had an average of four receptions for 98 yards and just under a touchdown per game in the opening five games they played together. Stills finished the season with just 37 receptions for 553 yards and six touchdowns, representing his lowest statistics in three years. They may well have effectively the same receiving options from 2018 with Stills, Albert Wilson and Devante Parker all returning, but they are still a team in transition. Stills certainly has the biggest upside of the three, especially if Fitzpatrick is the starter, if not Josh Rosen will limit his upside. Rosen is still likely an upgrade from previous quarterback Ryan Tannehill, but wouldn't give Stills matchup winning stats.
