Keelan Cole 2019 Outlook: The Odd Man Out In Jacksonville?
6 years agoJacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Keelan Cole was a popular sleeper pick heading into the 2018 season, but Cole slowly saw his role in the team reduced over the course of the season. He was targeted just 24 times over the season’s final nine games and saw his offensive snap percentage fall below 30 percent on for three consecutive weeks at one point. With Marqise Lee (knee) expected back this season and second-year receiver D.J. Chark expected to take on a bigger role, time may have already run out for Cole as a viable fantasy option. Without injuries between now and fantasy draft season, there’s no reason to have Cole on your draft boards, as a strong rookie campaign in 2017 feels like a remnant of some distant past now. Even with a new quarterback in Nick Foles, there’s no reason to think Cole bounces back to those 2017 numbers, and even last year’s 491 yards feels out of reach. Cole can have a decent role if injuries force him into action, but leave him on waivers until such a situation occurs.
