Jorbit Vivas Sent to Triple-A
Jorbit Vivas to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to make room for infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. (oblique) returning from the 10-day injured list. Vivas, the team's No. 19 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will head back to the farm after hitting just .156 (7-for-45) with a home runs, two doubles, four RBI, six runs scored, four walks and 11 strikeouts in his first 22 big-league games as a utility infielder. The 24-year-old saw action at second and third base due to injuries to Chisholm and Oswaldo Cabrera (ankle). For now, Pablo Reyes will stick around as a utility infielder for the Yankees, while Vivas gets more development on the farm.
