Jorbit Vivas Homers, Accounts for Only Offense on Thursday
Jorbit Vivas was the only offense for either side in Thursday's 1-0 victory over the visiting Texas Rangers in the Bronx, with his solo home run (and first MLB long ball) in the fifth inning being the game-winner. The team's No. 19-ranked prospect, per MLB Pipeline, is currently in the strong side of a platoon at the hot corner with Oswald Peraza ever since Oswaldo Cabrera's season-ending ankle injury, but it hasn't helped fantasy managers much. The 24-year-old Venezuelan infielder was hitting .156 (5-for-32) with three RBI and five runs scored coming into Thursday's series finale. Whenever Jazz Chisholm Jr. (oblique) returns from the injured list, there's a good chance veteran DJ LeMahieu will take over most of the playing time at third base in the Bronx. Vivas' homer on Thursday is nice, but he's going to need more where that came from.
