Jaguars D/ST A Great Play In Week 1 Against Rookie QB-Led Colts
1 year agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars defense is a borderline top-5 play at the position this week against an offense led by rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson. The 2023 fourth-overall pick will take his first real professional snaps on Sunday, setting up a nice day for the Jags defensive unit. While Richardson is an elite athlete with a cannon arm, he comes into the league with considerable accuracy concerns. History is also not kind to rookie first-round quarterbacks, as they average only 216 passing yards and 19 completions in their first career starts. The Colts will also be without star running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle), leaving even more question marks on the offensive side of the ball. With the Jaguars retaining much of their core that surprised last season, ranking 12th overall in team defense, they will make life difficult for the rookie QB, leading to an excellent fantasy output.
