Dejounte Murray 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoSan Antonio Spurs point guard Dejounte Murray will be an intriguing guy to watch in 2019-20. He missed the whole of last season through injury after showing some great promise in 2017-18. Murray's emergence pretty much ended Tony Parker's career in San Antonio and he produced something of everything as a starter, averaging 10.1 points, seven rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals in 26.1 minutes. At 21 years old, Murray became the youngest player ever to earn an NBA All-Defensive team selection. Derrick White did a good job last season in Murray's absence and Bryn Forbes had his moments, but the Seattle-born point guard is expected to return with a bang. He's had two offseasons to work on his game and he'll be raring to go after missing a whole season. Murray didn't boast a reliable jump shot before tearing his right ACL, so he could look like a very different player when he finally returns to the court. Being a bigger offensive threat would certainly boost his fantasy value further. With that said, even if there hasn't been much progress with his shooting, Murray will still be a solid pickup.
