This is an exciting time of year for MLB and fantasy baseball fans, as the MLB season is getting closer, and a full year of fantasy baseball lies ahead. Starters logging over 200 innings in a season is a rarity these days, as only eight pitchers threw over 200-plus innings in 2022. Miami Marlins ace Sandy Alcantara led the way with 228 2/3 innings last season. Justin Verlander was the last pitcher to throw for over 250 innings, and that was over a decade ago. Drafting pitchers in early rounds can be risky with injuries and workload management. Not counting two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani, Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Corbin Burnes and New York Yankees ace Gerrit Cole were the only two pitchers to crack the top 20 in RotoBaller's top 300 overall rankings.
