FanDuel MLB Lineup Picks (6/6/21): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

JorgePucks highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 6/6/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

As is customary on Sundays, we have a very large slate to dissect with lots of batting and pitching options for us to consider. We have some good pitching options on this slate so we will need to figure out which one can get us a few strikeouts and a win while also choosing between some great offenses like Houston, Chicago, Cleveland, and Toronto to choose from.

I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 6/6/2021. Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate.

You can also check out today's DraftKings MLB DFS lineup picks, and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. Let's get to it!

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Cash Game/GPP Anchor Play:

Corbin Burnes - MIL vs. ARI ($11,000)

There are several top arms to choose from but from my perspective, Burnes grades out to be the best arm to pay up for on FD for this slate. Burnes has struck out at least seven batters in every start so far this season and has only allowed more than two runs twice out of nine total starts. The matchup against Arizona could be one where he hits his ceiling as the Diamondbacks have the third-most strikeouts against right-handed pitching and has the 26th best team ISO in the league (.138). With Arizona lacking the talent to overcome Burnes at the plate, he is viable in all formats and will be a very popular option even with his high price tag.

Alternate Play(s)

Sandy Alcantara - MIA @ PIT ($8,700)

If you are looking for more of a value play at the pitcher position, Sandy Alcantara would be one to consider. Alcantara has a 3.68 ERA in 12 games played but has managed to produce eight quality starts while striking out at least six batters in half of those starts. As a team, Pittsburgh is sporting an ISO of .119 against right-handed pitchers which ranks dead-last in the league and they are also sporting a 23% strikeout rate against this handedness. This Pirates lineup features only one bat that has an ISO higher than .185 so if Alcantara is dialed in with his pitches and doesn't leave one carelessly over the heart of the plate, he could have a solid day on the mound.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Yuli Gurriel- 1B, HOU @ TOR ($2,600)

Gurriel is having a fantastic season at the plate and he is one that is way under-priced for his recent form and overall play this year. Gurriel is hitting .314 on the year but has excelled against left-handed pitching as he is hitting .329 and has a .293 ISO against this handedness. Right-handed batters have really gotten to Matz this year as they are batting .273 against him with six home runs and they also have an ISO of .251 against him. Matz throws his sinker 45% of the time to righties and Gurriel profiles well against this pitch as he has an ISO of .212 and an XwOBA of .351 against this specific pitch type. For his price point, Gurriel is viable in all formats!

Tommy Edman - 2B/OF, STL vs. CIN ($3,000)

Edman could easily go overlooked on this slate which is why he looks to be a great tournament play from the Cardinals. Edman is batting .341 on the year and has an ISO of .268 against left-handed pitching and left-hander Wade Miley will be going up against a right-handed dominant Cardinals lineup. Miley throws his cutter to right-handed hitters 46% of the time and this is a pitch that Edman handles well as he has a .368 ISO and a .48 XwOBA against that specific pitch type.

Alex Bregman – 3B, HOU @ TOR ($3,200)

This is one of the lowest price points that we have seen Bregman at in quite some time and while he hasn't been in the best form recently, he is due to break out at the plate. The Blue Jays will roll out left-handed pitcher, Steven Matz, to face this Astros squad and Bregman is fantastic against the split. He is hitting .325 on the year and is slugging .513 against this handedness while also having a .188 ISO.

Trea Turner- SS, WSH @ PHI ($4,100)

While the price tag is high for Turner, he is certainly worth paying up for in almost any matchup. He has the second-highest batting average on the Nationals when it comes to facing off against right-handed pitchers and also has the second-most home runs hit on the team against that handedness. Velasquez has struggled against right-handed batters this year as they have a .216 ISO against him and Turner profiles well against his fastball (.228 ISO, .421 XwOBA) which Velasquez throws over 50% of the time against right-handed batters.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Juan Soto - OF, WSH @ PHI ($4,100)

Soto has really been hot this week as he has hit three home runs over his last five games played and gets a good matchup against Vincent Velasquez. Soto leads the Nationals with a .303 batting average against right-handed pitchers and has a .202 Iso against this handedness this season. Velasquez throws three main pitches to left-handed batters which Soto profiles well against, especially Velasquez's knuckle-curve which he has a .302 ISO and .430 XwOBA against.

Trey Mancini - 1B/OF, BAL vs. CLE ($3,500)

Mancini has now recorded a hit in five straight games and the matchup against a right-handed pitcher in Cal Quantrill looks to be pretty favorable to both Mancini and his teammates. Quantrill throws two primary pitches to righties which is sinker (53% of the time) and changeup (35.51 of the time) and these two pitch types Mancini hits well as he has a .214+ ISO and a .55+ XwOBA against both pitch types.

Corey Dickerson – OF, MIA @ PIT ($2,300 FD)

The pricing on Dickerson is just too good to pass up, especially with the matchup against Chad Kuhl. Kuhl is allowing lefties to have a .240 ISO against him and Dickerson is batting .275 against right-handed pitchers this season. Dickerson profiles well as he has an ISO of .161+ against the three main pitch types that Kuhl throws to lefties and with his price tag being at $2,300, he opens up salary for the rest of your lineup.
