Well, another baseball season has come and gone, but rankings season never ends. I'll be working through my positional and team prospect rankings throughout the offseason, but for now, here are my current top-125 overall prospects for fantasy baseball.

These MLB prospect rankings are geared toward standard 5x5 fantasy baseball leagues (AVG) and consider many factors, including performance to date, scouting grades, future projection, and video and data analysis. Or, as I like to call it... "PPP," which stands for profile, performance, and projection.

Fantasy Baseball Prospect Rankings Notes

Trey Yesavage, Toronto Blue Jays

What a season for Trey Yesavage. Going from pitching in Low-A in April to starting two games in the World Series in a six-month span is truly remarkable. In 98 overall minor league innings across four levels, Yesavage posted a 3.12 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, 10.5% walk rate, and a 41.1% strikeout rate. He then had three regular-season starts in the Majors before making a start in the Divisional Series, two starts in the ALCS, and two starts and a relief appearance in the World Series.

At this point, Yesavage has cemented himself as a tier-1 pitching prospect and is my current #3 overall pitching prospect behind Chase Burns and Nolan McLean. My concern with Yesavage is that his command and control can be spotty at times, and he posted a walk rate above 10% both in the minors and the Majors this season. However, he's able to miss bats at an elite clip due to his upper-80s slider and mis-80s splitter, the latter of which had a 57.1% whiff rate in his three regular-season starts with Toronto.

Aidan Miller, Philadelphia Phillies

I'll fully admit that I dropped Aidan Miller too low in my prospect rankings in the early and middle parts of the 2025 season. But he's now back inside my top-40 overall as he inches closer towards making his Major League debut in the early part of the 2026 season. Miller even went in the first round of the Industry Prospect Mock Draft that I do every fall, going to Chris Clegg at pick 12 overall.

In 116 games this past season, most of which came in Double-A, Miller racked up 27 doubles, 14 home runs, and 59 steals with a .264/.392/.433 slash line. The months of June and July really tanked his slash line and his spot in my rankings, as he was under a .200 average each month. However, Miller rebounded with authority to end the season, slashing a robust .356/.492/.596 with 17 doubles, six home runs, 22 steals, and more walks (34) than strikeouts (32) over his final 39 games.

Miller blends above-average to plus speed with above-average contact rates, an advanced approach, and sneaky-good raw power. He made contact at a 77% clip this season with a 15.6% walk rate while keeping his strikeout rate in check at 23.4%. Long-term, the upside is here for Miller to be a 15/30 type of player who can provide a good AVG and OBP as well.

Joshua Baez, St. Louis Cardinals

After nearly falling off the prospect map entering 2025, Joshua Baez roared back with one of the best individual minor league seasons in 2025. In 117 games between High-A and Double-A, Baez slashed .287/.384/.500 with 23 doubles, 20 home runs, and a whopping 54 steals in 63 attempts.

This 2025 showing from Baez was truly impressive, given what we saw from him in 2022 through 2024 when he had a strikeout rate of at least 34% in each season while hitting under .250 in both 2023 and 2024. Baez trimmed his strikeout rate from 35.5% in 2024 to 20.6% in 2025 while also improving his SwStr rate from 17.9% to 11.4% and his contact rate from 64% to 75%.

If these contact and approach gains for Baez can stick in 2026 and beyond, he could wind up as an intriguing player for fantasy purposes thanks to his massive raw power and solid speed. He's a strong buy in dynasty leagues this offseason.

Esmerlyn Valdez, Pittsburgh Pirates

Speaking of notable prospect risers with big power upside, Esmerlyn Valdez is demanding your attention right now. Valdez has been mashing out in the Arizona Fall League this past month, carrying over his momentum from the minor league season. Valdez slashed .286/.376/.520 in 123 minor league games in 2025 while cracking 25 doubles and 26 home runs.

Valdez's plus-to-double-plus raw power leads the way, but he's far from an all-or-nothing slugger as he managed a decent 72% contact rate in 2025, including 74% in Double-A. Valdez also walked at a 10.6% clip while maintaining a manageable 24.6% strikeout rate. He's probably never going to provide more than a handful of steals, but Valdez has the power to be a 30-homer bat who can hopefully hit north of .250.

Connelly Early, Boston Red Sox

When I saw Connelly Early live in Double-A earlier in the season, he was solid but didn't blow me away. Therefore, I didn't bump him up my rankings and kept him well outside my top-100 overall. But with how he ended the season, I felt a top-100 overall ranking was now warranted.

After recording a 2.60 ERA in 100.1 minor league innings, Early had a 2.33 ERA in 19.1 innings with Boston, striking out 29 and walking only four. Early features a deep six-pitch arsenal with a variety of velocities and movement profiles. All six offerings had a whiff rate above 23% with the Red Sox, with his three most-used offerings having a BAA under .240.

I'll still say the upside here isn't as high as it is with Payton Tolle, but Early was very impressive down the stretch and could settle in as a solid mid-rotation starter in the Major Leagues.
