Top 300 Fantasy Baseball Rankings: Points Leagues Rest-of-Season Updates (August 2024)

Chris Sale - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Nick Mariano's updated 2024 fantasy baseball rankings for points leagues and H2H points scoring as of August 2024. His updated rest-of-season rankings and projections for hitters and pitchers.

Hey, RotoBallers, we are back with more fantasy baseball rankings. We are about eight weeks away from the end of the regular season. Top prospects are coming up, and the MLB roster expansion is only a few weeks away. With that being said, it's time for another rankings check-in. It's time to start preparing for that championship run, and we are here to help with our 2024 fantasy baseball points league rankings for points leagues and head-to-head (H2H) points leagues. There have been many injuries to navigate through, as well as highly touted players mired in slumps during the second half of the season. Throughout the MLB season, we'll publish rankings, tools, and analysis articles all geared for fantasy baseball points and H2H points leagues.

In the article below, we will look at our list of overall points rankings for the rest of the season, put together by RotoBaller MLB lead analyst Nick Mariano. These rankings are designed for points leagues and to help you assess your rosters moving forward. Which of the recent hot stretches do we take seriously, and when is it time to put less stock into struggling players?

Hopefully, these points league rankings below will give you some perspective on our thoughts on these topics and help guide you when evaluating your rosters. Let's see where players are listed in our latest points league rankings. The rankings below are designed explicitly for points leagues. We also have many other fantasy baseball rankings, tools, and resources to help you win in 2024.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Rest-of-Season Fantasy Baseball Points Rankings (August Update)

These points league rankings will be updated weekly throughout the season, so some situations are very fluid. It's not panic time yet, and we may not be ready to elevate hot-starting players into the elite yet, but it's certainly a good checkpoint for the long fantasy season. You can also see our roto fantasy baseball rankings.

Before we get to the rankings, let's quickly review points leagues and how they differ from other formats. Typically, points leagues have different league settings and scoring formats than other fantasy baseball leagues. Different MLB stats and categories are assigned different point values, which can vary by individual league settings. Those different point buckets are then added up throughout a scoring period or season.

Often, hitters who walk more and strike out less are preferred for points leagues. Also, many league formats tend to give more weight to pitchers than usual, as they can quickly accrue points through categories like Innings Pitched. These are the general frameworks that we use for our points league rankings below, and explain why they look different than more standard 5x5 roto fantasy baseball rankings.
