When is Marvin Harrison Jr. coming back? Will Marvin Harrison Jr. play again this season? Read about Marvin Harrison Jr.'s return date and injury updates for 2025 as of Week 13.
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. (appendicitis) has now missed two consecutive games after having an emergency appendectomy.
His ailment came seemingly out of nowhere, as tends to happen with appendicitis. What's more pressing is how long it will take for him to return, as his surgery was successful.
The Cardinals offense seems to have been hitting its stride more with a new starting QB at the helm, but when will Harrison return?

Marvin Harrison Jr. Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Providing an update on this injury isn't super revealing of anything. He continues to recover from his surgery. That tends to be how it works with that -- there's no structural damage to a muscle, tendon, bone, or joint, and we haven't heard of any complications so far.
“When he’s physically & mentally healthy to play, he’ll play.”

Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon isn't known for ever providing clarity to anyone about injury updates for his players, but at least he doesn't lie through his teeth about injuries. So, we probably won't be hearing anything about Harrison until he's back at practice.
He hasn't practiced yet. Vegas seems to think he won't play in Week 13. We'll have to see if he returns to practice this week, but that wouldn't even be a guarantee that he returns. It seems likely that the chief concern is his being able to take hits in the area they cut him open during the surgery.
We probably won't know for sure until he's given an official status of out or removed from the injury report.
Marvin Harrison Jr. Fantasy Football Outlook
Harrison didn't seem to be making much progress in his development as a player. He was still the top wide receiver for his team when healthy, but his production was disappointing. Though he had one good game with new starting QB Jacoby Brissett, he's been thoroughly outproduced by WR Michael Wilson.
Wilson went on a tear in the last two games, catching 25 of his 33 targets for 303 yards combined in Week 11 and Week 12. That easily smashes Harrison's best two-game stretch in his career, and the Cardinals coaching staff has already stated that Wilson will continue to have an expanded role moving forward.
"Whether it's in the run or the pass game, when you produce in this league, we're going to give you more opportunities to continue to do that. That's our job as coaches."

Harrison could legitimately become the team's third target in the passing game after Wilson and tight end Trey McBride. McBride is clearly the team's best pass-catcher going on two years now. Harrison seems to be becoming a bust of a pick in the early first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
It's clear by now that he was overdrafted, and it's hard not to blame him for not being able to play as a true X receiver, which is what he was drafted to be. Though he's seemingly made modest improvements, he doesn't have the athleticism to consistently win downfield and struggles to make contested catches.
In dynasty leagues, it was probably better to try to move on from him sooner rather than later. In redraft leagues, you might be stuck starting him as a flex and hoping he doesn't have more bust weeks. But if the offense takes a step back and he's the WR3 or WR2B, it could be pretty ugly.
