Roansy Contreras the Likely Candidate to Start Wednesday for Orioles
Roansy Contreras is reportedly the likely starter candidate for Wednesday's game against the Boston Red Sox, though the team has not made an official announcement. Contreras has yet to pitch in the majors this season after bouncing around during the offseason. The 25-year-old has spent most of 2025 with Triple-A Norfolk, where he has a 3.73 ERA and 1.30 WHIP over 28 appearances, including 14 starts. Contreras owns a career 4.72 ERA and a 10-16 record from previous stints with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Los Angeles Angels. UPDATE: The O's will use Dietrich Enns as their opener on Wednesday against Boston, but Contreras is expected to be the bulk reliever behind him.
