JT Brubaker Reinstated From Injured List
JT Brubaker (ribs) from the 60-day injured list on Wednesday before their game at Yankee Stadium against the visiting Los Angeles Angels. Brubaker will be making his season and team debut in pinstripes when he gets into a game after being acquired from the Pittsburgh Pirates last March. The 31-year-old had Tommy John surgery back in 2023 and also dealt with an oblique strain, which is why he hasn't pitched in the big leagues since 2022 with Pittsburgh. He was also struck by a comebacker and fractured three ribs back in spring training. He is built up as a starter, but Brubaker is fully expected to work in a long-relief role out of the bullpen. In his three MLB seasons with the Bucs, he went 9-28 with 4.99 ERA and 1.38 WHIP with 324 strikeouts and 109 walks in 315 2/3 innings over 63 outings (61 starts).
