Jonathan Aranda Improving, Will Visit Doctor on Sept. 10
Jonathan Aranda (wrist) has begun taking dry swings in his recovery from a fractured left wrist. While Aranda is improving, he's not swinging at full strength yet. He and the Rays will have a better idea of his status when he visits a doctor on Sept. 10. Aranda suffered his injury in the field when he collided with the New York Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton on July 31, interrupting a breakout campaign for the 27-year-old. He earned his first All-Star nod and has slashed .316/.394/.478 with 12 homers, 54 RBI, and 53 runs scored in 409 plate appearances. The Rays are hopeful that Aranda will come off the IL this month, but with just a few weeks left in the season, the clock is ticking on a potential return in 2025.
