Jarlin Susana Leaves With Apparent Injury on Saturday
Jarlin Susana (undisclosed) threw a pitch in the second inning and went to a knee in apparent discomfort, then exited with the trainer. No diagnosis has been provided, but he appeared to favor his right arm. The Nats' third-ranked prospect was on the injured list for two months earlier this season with a UCL sprain, and this was his fifth start since he returned from the injured list, during which time he looked as dominant as he had all season. In all, the 6-foot-6 hurler made 11 starts for Double-A Harrisburg, posting a 3.61 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and recording 79 strikeouts in 47 1/3 innings. If the injury is not long-term, he should push for a debut in the majors next year.
