The San Diego Padres have traded right-handed pitcher Eduarniel Nunez, Braden Nett, Henry Baez, and top prospect Leodalis De Vries to the Athletics in exchange for right-handed pitcher Mason Miller and left-hander JP Sears. Nunez made his MLB debut earlier this season and held a 3.86 ERA across a brief 4 2/3-inning stint. During this stretch, Nunez struck out just two hitters. He has spent most of his season split between Double-A and Triple-A. Through 35 total innings of relief in the top levels of the minor leagues, Nunez posted an impressive 2.31 ERA with a strong 1.03 WHIP. During this stretch, he struck out an impressive 56 hitters while allowing just 17 walks. Given his impressive production in the minor leagues, Nunez could have a role in the Athletics' bullpen during the final weeks of the season.--Andy Smith
