Fantasy Football Tight End Player Outlooks
Colston Loveland, Chicago Bears
Chicago Bears rookie tight end Colston Loveland (shoulder) was drafted with the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, giving him elite draft capital. Despite his lack of college production, he had suspect QB play last season, so his statistics were misleading. He's an elite route-runner for a tight end and is 6-foot-6, so he has an elite catch radius.
The 21-year-old is still recovering from a shoulder injury he played through in 2024 that he had surgery to address in the offseason. Loveland being thought of so highly by new Bears head coach Ben Johnson says a lot. While the team already has wide receivers DJ Moore and Rome Odunze, and drafted wideout Luther Burden III in the second round of the 2025 draft.
Loveland can immediately become the team's TE1 and take over a solid share of the passing game. Tight end Cole Kmet figures to be Loveland's backup. Still, it's a crowded pass-catcher room, making it hard to project Loveland's volume. His ADP in redraft leagues is very low, so it shouldn't be hard to draft him in the later rounds.
He's immensely talented and will be in the hands of an immensely talented offensive mind in Johnson. So, Loveland has a ton of upside for not being very expensive. He's absolutely worth drafting and should finish as a top-8 TE this season.

Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts (foot) continues to be the bane of fantasy football managers who are duped into drafting him at his ADP. His rookie season, largely driven by the oft-disrespected late-career quarterback Matt Ryan, has yet to be replicated. Instead, Pitts has found new ways to disappoint every season.
The 24-year-old hasn't lived up to his name value from a lack of separation ability, poor contested-catch skills, and inexplicable and costly drops. Atlanta has better options to get the ball to, like wide receivers Drake London and Darnell Mooney, and running back Bijan Robinson. Pitts is the fourth option in this offense. At some point, it's better to stop making excuses for players for their lack of production.
The three years of Pitts we've seen after his rookie season should be more in line with what we expect from him, so he's an easy fade in most fantasy football leagues. Pitts is also dealing with a foot injury, and the Falcons are being extra cautious with their starting tight end. Someone will inevitably pick him too high, and he's currently TE15 in the latest RotoBaller rankings, but that ranking could drop if his foot injury continues to linger.

Tucker Kraft, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft enjoyed a nice sophomore season. He posted a 50-707-7 line and set new career highs across the board. Kraft would finish 2024 as the PPR TE10. In the immediate aftermath of Green Bay's season, head coach Matt LaFleur lamented the fact that the team did not further utilize Kraft and expressed his desire to incorporate him into Green Bay's offense further moving forward.
LaFleur has also echoed those sentiments several times throughout the offseason. However, the team used a first-round pick to select wide receiver Matthew Golden in the 2025 NFL Draft. The addition of Golden further complicates an already crowded receiving core and marks a potential roadblock toward Kraft earning a larger role.
Be that as it may, we should not entirely dismiss LaFleur's comments on Kraft. He runs an offensive system very similar to the one run by Kyle Shanahan and the San Francisco 49ers. Perhaps the team sees Kraft as their version of George Kittle and plans to utilize him as such. With Kraft's average NFFC ADP of 122.86 overall, it won't cost gamers much to find out. If you plan to wait on tight end in your draft, Kraft's name should be at the top of your list.

George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers playmaker George Kittle has been one of the most reliable fantasy tight ends over the last few years. He has finished top-5 at the position in six of the past seven seasons and is coming off one of his better fantasy campaigns in 2024.
Kittle finished as the TE3 in PPR formats and averaged 15.8 PPR fantasy points per game. That 15.8 average ranked first among all tight ends last year. The 31-year-old caught 78 passes for 1,106 yards and eight touchdowns in 15 games for the 49ers.
As we head into the 2025-2026 season, Kittle should remain a strong TE1 option for managers. He scored at least 14 PPR fantasy points in 11 of 15 contests last year, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him repeat those fantasy numbers this season.
Deebo Samuel Sr. was traded this offseason, and Brandon Aiyuk (knee) is coming off a season-ending ACL injury. Therefore, we could see the veteran up his 22% target share from last year. That all makes him a perfect target early in 2025 fantasy football drafts.
