FanDuel MLB Lineup Picks (7/11/21): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

tim anderson fantasy baseball rankings shortstops draft sleepers

JorgePucks highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 7/4/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Hello RotoBallers! We have a nice-sized Sunday main slate to dissect with lots of batting and pitching options for us to consider. We have some good pitching options on this slate so we will need to figure out which one can get us a few strikeouts and a win while also choosing between some great offenses like Toronto, Oakland, and Houston to choose from.

I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 7/11/21. Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate.

You can also check out today's FanDuels MLB DFS lineup picks, and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. Let's get to it!

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Cash Game/GPP Anchor Play:

Jose Berrios - MIN vs. DET ($9,900)

There are plenty of strong starting pitching options today but Jose Berrios looks to have one of the best overall matchups on the slate against the Detroit Tigers. Berrios has been in good form as he has picked up a quality win in four out of his last five starts and has recorded 33 strikeouts in that five-game span. When looking at Detroit, they have struck out the third most times in the league against right-handed pitching this season, and they have a 26.6% strikeout percentage over their last 14 days against the handedness.

Alternate Play(s)

Chris Bassitt - OAK @ TEX ($9,700)

Another pitcher that really stands out in his own matchup is Chris Bassitt against the Texas Rangers. Bassitt has faced Texas twice within the last three weeks and picked up two quality starts while allowing one run and striking out 11 batters. Bassitt has been very effective for the A's this season as he is 9-2 on the year with a 3.41 ERA and picked up the win both times against Texas. The Rangers have six batters that sport a strikeout percentage that is greater than 21% so there is some upside to rostering Bassitt in this matchup.

Other recommended value pitching options: Pablo Lopez vs. Atlanta, Luis Castillo vs. Milwaukee

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Matt Olson - 1B, OAK @ TEX ($3,700)

One way to get different in tournaments is going with someone like Matt Olson who actually has fared well in a lefty vs. lefty matchup this year. He is sporting a .246 ISO and is batting .285 against lefty pitchers with nine home runs which leads the entire A's squad from a home run perspective against this handedness. Allard throws his fastball and cutter for a combined 77% of the time against lefty batters and Olson has a .348+ ISO against both pitch types.

Luis Arraez - 2B, MIN vs. DET ($2,500)

One guy that could be a good value play for your lineup is Luis Arraez. While he doesn't offer much power to your lineup, he does a great job of getting on base and setting the tone for this Twins lineup. In his last 25 at-bats, Arraez accrued 12 hits while also managing to record seven runs scored. Wily Peralta will be on the hill for Detroit and he throws his changeup roughly 38% of the time to lefty batters and Arraez hits the changeup well as he has a .236 ISO and makes contact 89% of the time against that specific pitch type.

Jean Segura - 2B/3B/SS, PHI vs. BOS ($3,100)

Segura is a swiss-army knife for your FD lineup as he carries multi-position eligibility amongst the infield which is very valuable from a roster construction standpoint. Segura matches up well against Nick Pivetta as he is hitting .333 against right-handed pitchers this year and righties have gotten to Pivetta as they have a .218 ISO with eight home runs off of him this season.

Tim Anderson - SS, CWS @ BAL ($3,500)

Anderson has been white-hot at the plate and is swinging a very hot bat so consider rostering him in all formats. Over his last six games, Anderson has gone 14 for 26 while hitting three doubles, scoring 10 runs, and driving in five RBIs. Spencer Watkins will be pitching for the Orioles and he primarily throws his fastball and cutter to righties and Anderson has an XwOBA of .336+ against both pitch types.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Bryce Harper  - OF, PHI vs. BOS ($4,100)

While there are plenty of pay-up options in the outfield for today's slate, one of the better spots to target is Bryce Harper against Nick Pivetta. Harper is hitting .294 against righties this year and leads the team with 13 home runs against this handedness. He has a very strong ISO of .297 against this handedness and profiles well against Pivetta since he throws his fastball over 50% of the time to lefty batters and Harper has a .284 ISO and a .500 XwOBA against that pitch type.

Ramon Laureano - OF, OAK vs. TEX ($3,500)

Another A's batter to consider in the matchup against Kolby Allard is Ramon Laureano. Laureano is hitting .319 against left-handed pitching this year which is the best average on the Oakland team against lefties and he also has a .197 ISO against the handedness. Allard throws his fastball to righties close to 50% of the time and Laureano profiles well against his fastball pitch type by having an ISO of .357 and an XwOBA of .610.

Anthony Santander– OF, BAL vs. CWS (2,500)

One bat that looks to stand out in the matchup against Dylan Cease is Anthony Santander. Santander carries the highest ISO rating (.265) on the Orioles when it comes to facing right-handed pitchers and Cease has allowed more home runs to lefty batters. Santander could see lower ownership as Cease looks to have a good matchup as a whole against this Orioles lineup but would be worth considering as a one-off if you are not playing Cease.
