FanDuel MLB Lineup Picks (6/27/21): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. - Fantasy Baseball

JorgePucks highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 6/27/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

As is customary on Sundays, we have a very large slate to dissect with lots of batting and pitching options for us to consider. We have some good pitching options on this slate so we will need to figure out which one can get us a few strikeouts and a win while also choosing between some great offenses like Houston, New York, Atlanta, and Toronto to choose from.

I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 6/27/2021. Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate.

You can also check out today's DraftKings MLB DFS lineup picks, and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. Let's get to it!

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Cash Game/GPP Anchor Play:

Max Scherzer - WSH @ MIA ($11,200)

Scherzer is arguably the top pitcher and safest pitcher play on the entire slate. He has hit 40+ FD points in four out of his last five starts and has massive strikeout upside as he has struck out eight or more batters in five out of his last six starts. He faced the Marlins earlier this season and he went the distance as he pitched all nine innings while allowing one run and striking out nine batters. Miami has the eighth-most strikeouts against right-handed pitchers on the year and has the third-lowest team ISO of .135 against this handedness so this looks to be a great spot to roster Scherzer.

Alternate Play(s)

Sandy Alcantara - MIA vs. WSH ($9,600)

If rostering Scherzer is too expensive for your roster construction, you could always go to the other side of that game and consider rostering Sandy Alcantara. Alcantara has been very good at home as he sports a 2.19 ERA and batters are hitting just .182 against him in 53.1 innings pitched. The Nationals only have a team ISO of .147 against right-handed pitchers which ranks in the bottom third of the league and they have struck out 79 times over their last 14 days against this handedness which is the 10th highest total in the league.

Jake Odorizzi - HOU vs. DET ($7,600)

If you're needing even more salary relief, one of the better value spots to look at would be Jake Odorizzi against the Tigers. Detroit has seven batters in their lineup that have a strikeout rate that is greater than 21% and they have the fourth-highest strikeout total when it comes to hitting against right-handed pitching this season. Odorizzi is coming off of his best start of the season against the Orioles where he went five innings and struck out nine batters. The one downside to Odorizzi is he hasn't lasted too long as he has only gotten to five innings just three times so far but if he can be efficient in this matchup, he could hit value.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. - 1B/3B, TOR @ BAL ($4,800)

Vlad is on another level right now as he has hit a home run in three straight games and is batting .343 on the season. Jorge Lopez will be on the mound for the Orioles and Lopez has actually gotten hit around more by right-handed batters as they are slashing .288 against him on the year with eight home runs. Vlad profiles well against Lopez as he sports an ISO of .168+ against every pitch type that he throws and has an ISO of .285 against right-handed pitchers this season.

Marcus Semien - 2B/SS, TOR @ BAL ($3,700)

Another Blue Jays batter that should be heavily considered is Marcus Semien. Semien has been hot at the plate as he has recorded a hit in four straight games and is hitting .275 against right-handed pitchers with 14 home runs which is the second-most home runs hit on the team against that handedness. Lopez throws his fastball and sinker over 60% of the time to righties and Semien has an ISO of  .293+ and an XwOBA of .400+ against both pitches.

Abraham Toro - 3B, HOU @ DET ($2,500)

Toro has been filling in nicely for the Astros in the absence of Alex Bregman as he is hitting .306 on the yeat with two home runs. When it comes to facing left-handed pitching, Toro has seen limited at-bats but has produced as he has five hits in nine at-bats against this handedness. If he gets the start in the hot corner, he would be one way to get cheap exposure to this strong Astros lineup.

Amed Rosario - SS/OF, CLE @ MIN ($2,600)

One value play that grades out pretty well is Amed Rosario. Rosario has been solid against lefties as he is hitting .274 on the season with three home runs and has an 81.3% contact rate against this handedness. Happ will be on the mound for the Twins and he throws his fastball over 50% of the time to right-handed batters and Rosario has a .500 ISO and a .502 XwOBA against this pitch type.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Aaron Judge - OF, NYY @ BOS ($4,000)

One of the best pay-up options for the outfield on this slate is Aaron Judge. He draws a very favorable matchup against Eduardo Rodriguez as righties have a .195 ISO against him and Judge is hitting .321 against lefties this year. E-Rod throws his fastball and cutter roughly 50% of the time to righties and Judge profiles extremely well against these pitch types as he has a .368 ISo against the cutter and a .529 ISO against his fastball.

Randy Arozarena - OF, TBR vs. LAA ($3,100)

The Rays could go overlooked in this matchup against Patrick Sandoval and Randy Arozarena would be one of the Rays batters that you should target in this matchup. Arozarena has been solid against lefty pitcher this year as he is hitting .269 with four home runs which is second-most on the team. He has a .267 ISO against left-handed pitchers and has a .200 ISO against Sandoval's fastball which he throws over 40% of the time to right-handed batters.

Aristides Aquino – OF, CIN vs. ATL ($2,300)

If you're looking for a high-upside play for cheap, Aquino would be one to consider on this slate. Even though he is only hitting .200 on the season, he has fared well against lefty pitchers this year as he has taken them deep three times in just 17 at-bats and should see several at-bats against Kyle Muller whom the Braves will be rolling out there on this Sunday slate.
