Alexis Diaz to Join Dodgers
Alexis Diaz from Triple-A Oklahoma City, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. Diaz has pitched in the minors since the Dodgers acquired him from the Cincinnati Reds on May 29. He struggled in six appearances with Oklahoma City, allowing five earned runs with three strikeouts and seven walks in 4 2/3 innings. Nevertheless, the Dodgers will give the former All-Star another shot in the majors. The brother of Mets closer Edwin Diaz, Alexis Diaz burst on the scene in his first two seasons. From 2022-23, a 131-inning stretch, he logged a 2.47 ERA with 11.61 K/9, 4.74 BB/9, and 47 saves. Diaz's numbers dipped last year, and the Reds traded him this season after he yielded eight earned runs in six innings out of their bullpen.
