Danny Coulombe Placed on 15-Day Injured List
The Minnesota Twins have placed left-handed pitcher Danny Coulombe (forearm) on the 15-day injured list with a forearm strain. The 35-year-old has not appeared in a game since Wednesday. Through his first 16 2/3 innings of work this season, the left-hander has been one of the most effective relief pitchers in the sport. He has not allowed a run and posted a stellar 0.60 WHIP. He has struck out 19 batters and served up walks at an impressive 3.3% rate. Under the hood, he has generated a 1.69 xERA (100th percentile) and a .187 xBA (95th percentile). He has tallied two holds and two saves, pitching primarily in the seventh and eighth innings. While he is sidelined, fantasy managers should expect Jhoan Duran to serve as the primary closer, with Griffin Jax and Cole Sands being the primary setup options.
