Fantasy Basketball Mid-Week Streamers: Week 14

NBA fantasy baseball streamers waiver wire pickups

Thunder Dan Palyo looks at some mid-week waiver wire options for fantasy basketball leagues. These players may be free agents to target on waivers in Week 14.

These balanced schedules are really great these days and we get another solid finish to a week with five games today, followed by nine on Friday and then seven on both Saturday and Sunday. These make for great DFS slates and make for an optimal streaming schedule, too. I wasn't able to get my early week piece out this week on the holiday, but I'm definitely ready to help you finish the week strong with my favorite players to add for Thursday-Sunday.

Most leagues limit how many players you can stream each week in daily leagues. If your league only allows three moves per week, you need to be very efficient with your moves and grab players who will help you maximize your games played and help you win an extra category or two of counting stats.

The goal of this article each Thursday morning will be to help you plan out your roster moves for the remainder of the week. By this point of the week, you should start to get an idea of what categories you may need help with and where your weekly opponent is the strongest and weakest (in H2H formats). If you're playing roto, you don't have to gameplan quite as much, but you'll still want to maximize the stats your team can accumulate during the week. All the rostered percentages used in this article are from Yahoo.

Shallow League Streaming Options

Kyle Anderson - SF/PF (48%)

We are officially on a triple-double watch for Slo-Mo two games in a row as he almost did it again last night against Denver. He can be a maddening player to roster at times, but there simply isn't a player under 50% rostership with more fantasy upside than Anderson. The T-Wolves play again tonight and then get a tasty matchup with Houston on Saturday. As long as Gobert is dealing with injuries and KAT remains out, Anderson is going to have opportunities to stuff the stat sheet as he has been.

Kevon Looney - C (42%)

I am holding onto Looney for the rest of the week in a few leagues since the Warriors have three games in four nights starting tonight. He's starting to fade a bit after a tremendous stretch of double-doubles, but he should continue to see 25-28 minutes a night as the starting center for the Warriors and his competition for minutes isn't there as Kuminga, Wiseman, and JaMychal Green all remain injured and unavailable. At some point, he's going to turn into a pumpkin, but I think we have at least one more week of some nice Looney lines ahead.

Naz Reid - C (34%)

Reid is more widely available than Anderson, though he lacks the statistical diversity that Slo-Mo does, too. He's also usually limited to around 25-28 minutes even when Gobert is out, but that's plenty of minutes for him to produce some solid scoring, rebounding, and blocks - of which he has six in his last three outings. Give him a look if you need some solid FG%, boards, and defensive stats.

Seth Curry - PG/SG (32%)

Curry really shouldn't be on waivers in competitive leagues, so snag him if your fellow managers are sleeping. The Nets play three times in the next four days and while Kyrie Irving will return to the lineup tonight, Curry is still going to be the second option on offense as far as scoring goes until KD comes back. Even if he's coming off the bench, he's putting up a large volume of shots and is a very good 3-point shooter. He's pretty limited to just threes, points, and steals but he could have some pretty big games in the next few weeks as he's been known to pop off when he gets hot shooting from deep.

T.J. Warren - SF/PF (29%)

There was a big rush to add Warren when KD went down, but he's starting to get dropped in leagues again after he had a few lackluster games. Listen, you're not going to get the old TJ Warren who was an automatic 20 points a night in his prime. But ideally, the Nets want to play him somewhere around 25 minutes off the bench and have him and Curry anchor their second unit and play with the first-teamers to close games when necessary. He's scored 19 and 20 points in two of his last three games and can get us points, boards, and threes without completely sacrificing FG%, too.

Deep Leagues Streaming Options

Precious Achiwura - PF/C (16%)

It could be time to fire up the Precious (cue Lord of the Rings music) as the Raptors are another team with three games to close out the week. Precious seems to be winning the battle for minutes between him, Christian Koloko, and Chris Boucher and has been pretty productive of late. He's now topped 20 minutes in three straight games and while he won't blow you away with any huge numbers, he has shown some versatility in his game shooting more threes this season and averaging 1.0 combined blocks/steals in only 18 minutes per contest.

Trey Lyles - PF/C (12%)

Sabonis was out last night for the Kings, but it was Richaun Holmes to stepped into most of his minutes at the center position while Lyles continued to play his way into a timeshare with Keegan Murray at PF. He's now scored in double-digits in six straight games and has always had a very fantasy-friendly skill set for a big man as he averages 1.1 threes per game in only 15 minutes per contest this year while shooting 46% from the field and picking up 0.8 steals/blocks per game.

Pat Connaughton - SG/SF (9%)

I mentioned Patty C last week and while he continues to shoot a poor percentage from the field, remember that he's doing so on a pretty small volume of shots so it's going to kill you or anything in that category. What he does well, however, is board like a big man as he now has three straight games with 8 rebounds and he's firmly entrenched as the top wing player for Milwaukee until Middleton returns. There isn't a better "3s and boards" player out there other than maybe Max Strus - who is far more widely rostered.

Anthony Lamb - SF/PF (8%)

Here's your weekly pitch for Anthony Lamb once again. I'm not sure what else this guy needs to do to get more recognition around the league! His 26-point outing was eye-opening a few weeks ago, but he's continued to post solid numbers since then and has carved out a 22-25 minute role in Golden State while Kuminga remains out. Like Looney, this won't last forever, but with three games in four nights to close out the week, I am adding Lamb in deeper leagues.
