Welcome back to our Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Hitters - Category Boosters column for Week 11 of the 2025 MLB season. By now, we have a pretty good idea of what our teams are and where we might need to augment our statistical categories. Injuries have begun to take their toll on many teams, and we need to find replacements to stay afloat in those leagues.
What do we have on the menu this week on the waiver wire? It's an exciting time with many top prospects getting their chance, like Nick Kurtz and Marcelo Mayer. We cannot put Roman Anthony in here due to our 50% roster constraint. There are also useful, overlooked veterans like Willi Castro and Lane Thomas, who can help you out right now.
We will aim to give you three options for each of the five offensive categories in a standard five-by-five league. Our rule: All hitters will be listed according to their percentage of rostered players on Yahoo!, with a maximum of 50 percent. Let's look at names that might be under the radar, but who can help you now.

Runs Scored (R) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters
Willi Castro, 2B/3B/SS/OF, Minnesota Twins (46% rostered)
Castro continues to look like the player he was last year for the Twins after a tough start due to injury and ineffectiveness. The veteran utility guy is hitting .323 in June with two home runs and six runs scored over his last week of games. The fact that he is eligible at four different positions makes him a useful player to you, as the war of attrition adds up with continuing injuries. Sneaky value here.
Parker Meadows, OF, Detroit Tigers (24% rostered)
Don't drop Parker Meadows. Better days are coming, sitting atop the Detroit Tigers' batting order. If you drop him, I will pick him up. Not only is Meadows hitting leadoff for one of the best teams in baseball, but he also brings a potent mix of power and speed to a lineup that needs him. He scored four runs and stole two bases in his first week back with the team. Grab him now before your league mates realize Meadows is available.
Marcelo Mayer, 3B/SS, Boston Red Sox (17% rostered)
Mayer is starting to look like one of the top prospects in the Red Sox system. He is playing third base due to the injury to Alex Bregman, who will be out several weeks, if not months, with a quad injury. Mayer is their best option and should continue to play there. He's not hitting for a high average yet, but he hit his first home run this week and has scored a run in six consecutive games. Mayer hits the ball hard when he hits it, as evidenced by his 51.7% hard-hit rate. Mayer is worth gambling on if you need help at third base this week.
Home Runs (HR) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters
Christian Encarnacion-Strand, 1B, Cincinnati Reds (40% rostered)
Encarnacion-Strand is back, and this is a pure power play. In four games back with the Reds, he has already connected for three home runs. With eligibility at both first and third base, he provides home runs from multiple spots on your roster. Things could get crowded when Noelvi Marte returns, but for now, Encarnacion-Strand looks like a player to roster for his home run potential. He is in the cleanup spot of the order between Elly De La Cruz and Tyler Stephenson, both of whom have been swinging hot bats in June.
Nick Kurtz, 1B, Athletics (27% rostered)
Some fantasy players grabbed Kurtz immediately, lost patience with him, and churned him back to the waiver wire. You should grab him if you can, as this is a difference-making bat for the second half of this season. He just missed two weeks with a hip injury, but the rookie was inserted into the lineup in the sixth spot, where he was the designated hitter on Monday night. Yes, there is the 33% K%, but this guy hits missiles when he makes contact: 77.6 MPH bat speed, and a 12.7% barrel rate. Sign me up. You could easily have a double-digit second-half home run performance here.
Jo Adell, OF, Los Angeles Angels (15% rostered)
Lo and behold, who do we have here? Jo Adell is raking for the Angels. He is hitting .308 with five home runs in June, adding eight runs scored and seven RBI. Maybe the Angels are content to let Adell play once and for all. He is batting in the lower third of the order and playing center field, which is allowing the team to keep Mike Trout fresh as the designated hitter. Adell will likely cool off as there is quite a bit of swing-and-miss here still, but if you need outfield help, consider the veteran, who is still only 26 and might be finding a real footing in MLB.
Runs Batted In (RBI) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters
Jesus Sanchez, OF, Miami Marlins (15% rostered)
Sanchez has always been tantalizing with his talent and is starting to show that potential. Batting second and playing the corner outfield spots with an occasional day to DH in there, Sanchez is playing daily and getting results. In May and June, he is hitting .290 with four home runs, 21 RBI, 16 runs scored, and chipped in five stolen bases. That is sound production. Check out his Statcast bat tracking below, and you can see his average bat speed is almost four points above the league average this season. He's quietly putting up a good season and can help your team if you are looking for daily at-bats in the outfield this month.
Otto Lopez, 2B/SS, Miami Marlins (8% rostered)
Lopez finally looks like the guy fantasy players thought they were drafting this past winter. Lopez was considered to be the type of player who would compile some counting stats, especially in stolen bases and runs, with a decent batting average. Lopez had a rough May, hitting only .191 with no home runs and two stolen bases, finding himself on many waiver wires. However, he has shown signs of life in June: .242, 2ith two home runs, two steals, and five runs scored and a modest five-game hitting streak. With the second base and shortstop eligibility, and assured of daily playing time, Lopez should find his way onto more rosters this weekend.
Max Muncy, 2B/3B/SS, Athletics (1% rostered)
Muncy is flying under the radar as the Athletics have brought up Kurtz and Denzel Clarke to more fanfare. Yet Muncy is holding his own in his second stint on the roster. There are questions about how long Muncy will stick on the roster, as veteran Gio Urshela remains out but should begin a rehab stint soon. In five June games, Muncy has hit three home runs and has six RBI, hitting .286 and stealing a base as well. I think Muncy could stick in a utility role or even beat out Luis Urias for the second base job. Grab him now and see what happens over the next few weeks.
Stolen Bases (SB) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters
Jose Caballero, 2B/3B/SS/OF, Tampa Bay Rays (31% rostered)
A tale tried and true, that is Caballero's story. He steals bases despite having no discernible hitting skills. Here's a great example: he has no hits in June, but somehow has scored four runs and stolen four bases. This is one trick, but it is a good trick; Caballero has 23 stolen bases this season.
Lane Thomas, OF, Cleveland Guardians (24% rostered)
Thomas just came off the IL on Monday, but the Guardians need outfield help, so they inserted him into the top spot of their lineup immediately. His Statcast looks sickly, but I am not looking at that in this regard. Thomas had a hit and two walks, and turned one of the free passes into a stolen base. In his last two seasons with moderate playing time, Thomas has stolen 20 and then 32 bases. If he gets on base, he is going. He should also hit 10-15 home runs, and you have a helpful player for your squad sitting on the waiver wire in most leagues.
Ronny Mauricio, 2B, New York Mets (17% rostered)
Mauricio has long been a prospect in the Mets system, and it looks like he may finally be healthy and ready to contribute to the major league roster. Mauricio stole two bases in his first week of games and should have some runway this month in New York. Take a look if you are looking for some cheap speed this week.
Batting Average (AVG) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters
Chase Meidroth, 2B/3B/SS, Chicago White Sox (23% rostered)
I have come to love Meidroth, both because I am a diehard Chicago White Sox fan and also an avid fantasy player. Meidroth continues to hit for a high average while holding down shortstop on a rebuilding roster. His strikeout rate and his walk rate are identical at 12%. He's hitting .299 with eight stolen bases and 20 runs scored while hitting second in the lineup. Impressive for a rookie. Add in that he gives you eligibility at three key infield spots, and you have a useful player depending on your roster build.
Alejandro Kirk, C, Toronto Blue Jays (20% rostered)
Listen, Kirk can hit. But he can also catch, and it seems people have forgotten how useful he can be to their teams. A 57% hard hit rate this year? His xBA is .313? Ok. Why are we rostering catchers who are not getting enough playing time (think Sean Murphy) while someone like Kirk is widely available? Kirk is batting cleanup in a Blue Jays lineup that is stout through the top five spots in the order. He will not hit many home runs, as he has only four this season, but he is hitting .316 and has shown no signs of letting up.
Abraham Toro, 1B/2B/3B, Boston Red Sox (19% rostered)
Toro has been a most welcome surprise at first base for the Red Sox after losing Triston Casas. Raise your hand if you saw Toro taking over the position and batting third in a stacked Boston lineup. All he has done so far is hit .333 with four home runs, 11 RBI, and 14 runs scored in 25 games. That includes a .394 batting average in June. Will this hot streak last? Unlikely, but you can benefit from it while it does. Toro is also eligible at three infield positions.
