Mike's fantasy baseball waiver wire hitters to add as category boosters for Week 10 of 2025. His top hitters to pick up or stream for HR, RBI, SB, AVG, and runs.
Welcome back to our Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Hitters - Category Boosters column for Week 10 of the 2025 MLB season. By now, we have a pretty good idea of what our teams are and where we might need to augment our statistical categories. It's not too late to gain if we can make some prudent moves before our opponents.
What do we have on the menu this week on the waiver wire? Well, we have some Swiss Army knife guys, like Willi Castro and Ernie Clement. We have some players back from injury, like Parker Meadows and Mike Tauchman. Need more reason to read this? How about burgeoning production from Addison Barger and Michael Busch? I have something for everyone!
We will aim to give you three options for each of the five offensive categories in a standard five-by-five league. Our rule: All hitters will be listed according to their percentage of rostered players on Yahoo!, with a maximum of 50 percent. Let's look at names that might be under the radar, but who can help you now.

Runs Scored (R) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters
Willi Castro, 2B/3B/SS/OF, Minnesota Twins (30% rostered)
Castro was drafted often in the winter, but a slow start and injury led to him being on the waiver wire often. Castro is getting starts at second base and in the outfield, and he hit .283 with three home runs, five RBI, 15 runs scored, and two stolen bases in May. That is the Castro fantasy players came to know and love last season. With a continued ability to get at-bats, Castro could be a sneaky add right now in many leagues.
Ernie Clement, 2B/3B/SS, Toronto Blue Jays (11% rostered)
Clement is an afterthought in most leagues, but he has been playing daily, and he's helping lead the Blue Jays' turnaround over the last couple of weeks. The versatile utility player hit .306 in May with three home runs, 12 RBI, 15 runs scored, and a stolen base. When factoring in how Clement has played every infield position this week, you have a secret fantasy baseball weapon here that nobody knows about yet.
Isiah Kiner-Falefa, 2B/3B/SS, Pittsburgh Pirates (10% rostered)
Players often scoff at adding Kiner-Falefa, also known as IKF, for reasons I never fully understand. Despite not always hitting the ball hard, IKF hit .344 in May and scored 10 runs despite only playing in 17 games. He gives you eligibility at three infield positions at a time when other players are on the injured list. IKF is a great fill-in to have rostered if you have needs at any of those spots, and he will help by scoring runs and hopefully stealing some bases.
Home Runs (HR) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters
Agustin Ramirez, C/1B, Miami Marlins (38% rostered)
There was a run to add Ramirez when he first came up, and then fantasy players cooled on him. Yet the rookie catcher is up to seven home runs. If you look at his Statcast page here, you will see that he's seemingly had some bad luck: his xBA is .278, his bat speed is in the 86th percentile, and his hard-hit percentage is almost 48%. Ramirez should be rostered far more often, as he is now eighth in home runs among catchers. Grab him now if you are getting middling results behind the plate.
Addison Barger, 3B/OF, Toronto Blue Jays (30% rostered)
Barger is swinging a hot bat, and he should be rostered in far more leagues. See his Statcast page below and understand why I say that. The relative unknown hit .292 in May with four home runs, including three in his last three starts. He started off June with another Tuesday night. Barger has moved to the three spot in a potent Toronto lineup, and he could knock in a bunch of home runs and runs with this current hot streak. Honestly, it looks like he has hit another level, and this could be your last chance to grab him on the cheap.
Josh Bell, 1B, Washington Nationals (6% rostered)
Bell is the kind of stable veteran who resides on the waiver wire until he hits a hot streak once or twice a year. Guess what? He is on one such streak right now. Bell hit five home runs in May, three in the last week. I realize he is hitting .185, but that includes a .254 in May. It won't last forever, as Bell is a streaky player, but with so many injuries on the Washington roster, daily at-bats in the designated hitter role seem there for the taking.
Runs Batted In (RBI) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters
Michael Busch, 1B, Chicago Cubs (46% rostered)
Busch is on fire over the last week, hitting an absurd .857 with two home runs and seven RBI. At this point, he is making a solid case to be more than just a platoon bat; he has been sharing time with veteran Justin Turner. Busch is up to .276 with nine home runs and 36 RBI, while adding 27 runs and three stolen bases.
Carlos Santana, 1B, Cleveland Guardians (19% rostered)
Raise your hand if you knew that Santana put these numbers up last month: a.316 batting average, five home runs, 22 RBI, and 18 runs scored. The veteran has been a godsend for the Guardians, getting at-bats at first base and as a designated hitter. He continues to be a low strikeout (17.1%) and high walk rate (13.6%) guy on a team with playoff aspirations. If you need corner infield help, do not be shy about adding Santana during this hot run for him.
Brett Baty, 2B/3B, New York Mets (15% rostered)
All Baty has done since earning this playing time is play well and hit. In May, Baty hit .290 with five home runs and 16 RBI, chipping in 10 runs and a stolen base. Baty benefited from the struggles of Mark Vientos (who was placed on the IL Tuesday) and proved that he could play regularly at the major league level. We do have to watch what the recall of Ronny Mauricio means for Baty, but he should continue to get regular at-bats both at third base and designated hitter. Add in that Baty has eligibility at both second base and third base, and you have a useful piece that most fantasy players are currently ignoring.
Stolen Bases (SB) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters
Sal Frelick, OF, Milwaukee Brewers (23% rostered)
The Brewers are in the thick of the playoff hunt, and Frelick's play is a reason for this. After hitting only two home runs in all of 2024, Frelick has four already in 2025. He's hitting .295 and has chipped in 21 RBI, 25 runs, and 11 stolen bases. He stole 18 last year. The Brewers are second in the major leagues with 81 stolen bases, and they continue to run when given opportunities; they already have four players in double digits for steals. Couple the stolen bases with guys with good batting averages who score runs, and Frelick looks like a good fit on many teams, especially points leagues. I love Frelick. Parker Meadows, OF, Detroit Tigers (14% rostered)
It is so good to see Meadows back on the field for the Detroit Tigers this week. He has only been back two games, but has already made a difference with his speed, nabbing a double, a triple, and a stolen base in eight at-bats. Manager A.J. Hinch inserted Meadows into the leadoff spot, where he should score tons of runs and be in position to steal bases. It remains to be seen how the playing time will be split here, but expect Meadows to play daily. Throughout 454 major league plate appearances, Meadows has 12 home runs and 18 stolen bases. I expect him to steal more if healthy this season.
Caleb Durbin, 2B/3B/SS, Milwaukee Brewers (5% rostered)
I saw Durbin play in the Arizona Fall League in November 2024 and was impressed by his skill set. He puts the bat on the ball, with only a 7.7% strikeout rate, and can run. As mentioned with Frelick above, the Brewers like to run and create havoc on the bases, and Durbin has stolen four bases in the last two weeks. Look for him to continue to get playing time and to run when he gets on base. The multiple position eligibility also benefits your team.
Batting Average (AVG) - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Boosters
Carlos Correa, SS, Minnesota Twins (30% rostered)
Correa is one of my favorite players to watch and is generally overlooked for fantasy purposes, as he is a better player in real life than in our game. Since he returned from his concussion in the last week of May, Correa has hit .333 while hitting in the middle of the Minnesota lineup. Correa should also provide a good batting average and pop a few home runs. If you are hurting at the middle infield spot, take a look at Correa this week.
Hyeseong Kim, 2B/SS, Los Angeles Dodgers (14% rostered)
Kim has impressed in his brief time with the Dodgers. He received some time at shortstop over the last week due to Mookie Betts' toe injury, proving that he can handle it in a pinch while continuing to get most of his reps at second base. Kim hit .422 in May and chips in with a couple of home runs, 13 runs scored despite hitting lower in the order, and stealing four bases. Add in that he will soon get outfield eligibility in some leagues, and you have a useful Swiss Army knife that can help your team.
Mike Tauchman, OF, Chicago White Sox (3% rostered)
My good friend Nate (last name redacted in case he doesn't want the mention) is a lifelong, knowledgeable Chicago Cubs fan who told me I would love watching Tauchman play on the South Side for how he approaches the game. Nate, as usual, was correct in his assertions. While limited by injury this season, Tauchman is back now and hitting .340 for the White Sox with a couple of home runs and 10 runs scored in his 60 plate appearances thus far. The Sox got him to play him, and he will at the very least be on the strong side of a platoon. This helpful player is hot right now and should be on your radar, despite only being rostered in 3% of leagues.
