Nick Mariano's Updated Fantasy Baseball Rankings for 5x5 Roto Leagues - Trevor Story, Whit Merrifield, Julio Rodriguez, Joey Votto

Fellow RotoBallers, we a little more than a month into the fantasy baseball season so it's time for a rankings check-in. Below you will find Nick Mariano's updated 2022 fantasy baseball rankings and tiers for 5x5 mixed roto leagues. These rankings are being released in early May, and are looking at rest-of-season fantasy baseball rankings and player values for the rest of this MLB season from this point going forward.

There have been plenty of exciting starts to the MLB season, mixed in with underwhelming performances as well. Which of these are we to take seriously, and which need to be taken with grain of salt? Is it time to elevate our expectations on certain players, and elevate touted prospects into a higher tier for fantasy baseball leagues? How much patience do we need to show for highly-touted players who have struggled out of the gate, especially veterans with proven track records? Hopefully the rankings below will give you some perspective on our thoughts on these topics, and help you assess the strength of your rosters going forward.

These rankings will be updated again every few weeks throughout the season, so some of these situations are very fluid. It's not panic time yet, and we may not be ready to elevate hot-starting players into the elite yet, but it's certainly a good checkpoint for the long fantasy season.
