Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 3:
Colston Loveland, Chicago Bears
Chicago Bears tight end Colston Loveland had another difficult outing in Week 2, catching just one of three targets for three yards in a 9-3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. It's yet another letdown for Loveland, who entered the season with plenty of fanfare but failed to catch a single target in a 59-37 victory against the Carolina Panthers in Week 1.
Chicago had a plethora of problems on Sunday, including starting quarterback Caleb Williams (hamstring) getting injured mid-game. Still, the second-year tight end out of Michigan hasn't lived up to his TE2 status in the RotoBaller positional ranking.
Brock Bowers, Las Vegas Raiders
Las Vegas Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak said that tight end Brock Bowers (knee) will be evaluated "day-to-day" and also said that Bowers will practice on Wednesday, according to Ryan McFadden of ESPN. Bowers has a very good chance of making his season debut in Week 3 on the road against the New Orleans Saints as long as he gets through the week of practice without any setbacks to his knee.
Bowers missed the first two weeks of the 2026 season following a meniscus trim that he had on his left knee on Sept. 8, but he appears to be itching to go this weekend against the Saints. The 23-year-old former first-rounder was a limited participant in practice last Friday, but hopefully he can upgrade to full at some point this week.
In his absence for the first two games, Michael Mayer did not make a huge statement, but he was adequate, catching nine of 11 passes for 55 yards. Bowers has elite TE1 upside for fantasy football managers when he is healthy, and he should be returned to all starting lineups if he is active in Week 3.
Terrance Ferguson, Los Angeles Rams
Los Angeles Rams tight end Terrance Ferguson caught six of his nine targets for 54 yards and one touchdown during Monday's Week 2 win over the New York Giants. He now has a touchdown in three of his last four regular-season games dating back to 2025. Aside from Davante Adams, who had 195 yards, nobody else earned the trust of Matthew Stafford more than Ferguson. It was a much-needed bounce-back game for the second-year tight end after he was held without a catch during last week's season opener.
For months, there was chatter that Ferguson had the makings of a Year 2 breakout candidate. It appears that rise to prominence started on Monday night, as he led the tight end room and operated as the No. 2 target behind Adams. His volume may decline a little if wide receiver Puka Nacua (hip) returns next week, but managers should still treat Ferguson as a fringe top-12 fantasy tight end in this high-powered Rams offense.
Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers
Across his first two games of 2026, Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth has recorded nine catches for 78 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets. The 27-year-old's numbers regressed across the board in 2025, but he appears to be re-emerging as the TE1 in Pittsburgh under a new coaching staff in 2026.
In Week 3, Freiermuth has a favorable matchup on paper against the Cincinnati Bengals. Cincinnati allowed 14 targets to Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz in Week 2, and Freiermuth recorded six catches for 130 yards and two touchdowns on seven targets across two games against the Bengals last season. Especially if Steelers wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (foot) remains sidelined, Freiermuth could be a worthy tight end streamer for fantasy managers in Week 3.
George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle caught all four of his targets for 80 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's Week 2 win over the Miami Dolphins. Kittle had a quiet Week 1 performance while handling a limited workload due to injury, and it looked like he was headed for another dud after finishing the first half of Sunday's game without a target. However, he broke out in the second half, catching all four of his passes despite the 49ers having a sizable lead.
The big second half allowed Kittle to finish as the 49ers' leading receiver in terms of yardage, and he tied for the team-high in receptions. The veteran tight end is a candidate to finish as a top-five fantasy scorer in any given week, but he has a particularly high ceiling going forward with wide receivers De'Zhaun Stribling (ankle), Mike Evans (hip), and Demarcus Robinson (ankle) all dealing with injuries.
