Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 3:
Tre Tucker, Las Vegas Raiders
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins said that he has been impressed with wide receiver Tre Tucker's versatility, dating back to OTAs and training camp in the offseason. Tucker's primary value to the Raiders is as a speed guy who can take the top off defenses, but Cousins says that with Tucker, "you can do what you want with him" and move him around the formation.
The 25-year-old Tucker caught just two passes on four targets for 27 yards in the Week 1 win over the Miami Dolphins, but he came to life with five receptions on seven targets for 119 yards and his first touchdown of the year in the Week 2 upset win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Fantasy managers have to remember that it came with star tight end Brock Bowers (knee) on the sideline for a second straight game, but even with Bowers potentially returning to the fold this weekend against the New Orleans Saints, Tucker could see plenty of targets in the passing game from Cousins.
Tucker has the potential to be an intriguing boom/bust WR4/flex in fantasy lineups in a Raiders offense that is already looking way better than it did a year ago.
Mike Evans, San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans (hip) was listed as a non-participant for Thursday's practice for the second straight day this week, according to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports. The NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported earlier on Thursday that Evans' hip does not seem like a major issue, and he has a good chance to suit up in Week 3 against the division-rival Arizona Cardinals.
The 33-year-old veteran's practice status so far this week does not coincide with the positive reports about his status for Sunday's divisional game, but Evans also has another chance to practice on Friday. The 49ers' WR room is among the most banged up in the NFL through two weeks, with Ricky Pearsall (knee) out for the year, De'Zhaun Stribling (ankle) set to miss 10 weeks, and Demarcus Robinson (ankle) also out for multiple weeks, so Evans' failure to practice so far this week could just be the team trying to keep their aging veteran receiver rested for the weekend.
If Evans can practice on Friday and is cleared for Week 3, he should be in all starting fantasy lineups with a potentially heavy target load coming his way.
Davante Adams, Los Angeles Rams
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams caught eight of his 10 targets for 195 yards and two touchdowns during Monday's Week 2 blowout win over the New York Giants. Adams took full advantage of his role as the Rams' No. 1 receiver with Puka Nacua (hip) sidelined, leading the team in targets, catches, yards, and touchdowns.
It was a much-needed bounce-back game for the veteran receiver after he was held to just three catches and 26 yards in the season opener. Adams is unlikely to replicate this level of performance going forward, especially if Nacua returns to the offense going forward. However, the veteran receiver proved that he's still a big-play and touchdown threat, cementing himself as a fringe top-12 fantasy option ahead of Week 3 against the Denver Broncos.
Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers struggling offensively to start the year, and the ball spread fairly evenly among receivers, tight ends, and running backs, second-year wideout Emeka Egbuka has accumulated only 79 receiving yards through two weeks. Following a historically strong start to his rookie campaign, the 2025 first-round pick has now failed to reach double-digit fantasy points in 10 straight games, clearing that mark only once in his last 14 outings.
He has maintained a respectable 7.1 targets per game over that stretch, but with quarterback Baker Mayfield topping 250 yards and two touchdowns only once since the start of the 2025 season, something he did seven times in 2024 alone, the quality of opportunity has seen a dramatic dip.
The Buccaneers face the Vikings in Week 3, and while Brian Flores' aggressive blitzing defense has gotten results through two weeks, the unit is still susceptible to an underneath passing attack, presenting Egbuka with the opportunity to volume his way back to fantasy viability in full-PPR formats.
Khalil Shakir, Buffalo Bills
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir has been quiet to start the season, but that might change in Week 3. Through two games, Shakir has hauled in seven of his 12 targets for 88 yards. Fantasy managers expected more from the 26-year-old, and they might get it soon. Fellow wideout DJ Moore (shoulder) was injured during Thursday's win over the Detroit Lions.
It's unclear at the moment if Moore will be able to play during the Week 3 matchup versus the Los Angeles Chargers. The absence of Moore would likely mean a larger role in the passing game for Shakir. Fantasy managers seeking a possible flex option for Week 3 should consider adding Shakir.
